Students from Classes IX – XII gathered in the auditorium of The Shishukunj International School from April 18 to 20, 2016 for the first ever English Literary Fest. The fest, a part of the British Council Project , was put up by students of Class XI , with the help of their teachers.
Visitors were to enter the auditorium through a corridor, which showcased portraits of several great writers from the USA, Russia, Italy, India, Pakistan and the UK . Inside the auditorium, this theme was exhibited as displays at five kiosks. Each stall, representing a country, had posters of the country, its greatest writers and their best works of writing on display. Students stood at every stall to explain to visitors anything that interested them- specifics of the lives of the well admired writers, challenges and successes their writings faced, or inspirations for some of the most famous books written in our history. The light music and the slideshow of scenes from the various countries playing in the background almost transported one to a different realm. While moving between kiosks, one could also admire the creative props made by students adding further to making for a truly attractive show.
With eminent writers from around the world and their works, along with wondrous artwork on display, the English Literary Fest was a grand success - engaging, stimulating, inspiring, and leaving its visitors with fresh knowledge, changed opinions and new favorites.
