World Heritage Day

April 19 2025

On the 19th of April 2025, the spirit of heritage came alive as we celebrated World Heritage Day in a grand and soul-stirring fashion, illuminating the heart of India, Madhya Pradesh’s rich cultural legacy. The day unfolded with a mesmerizing walk through the ancient Bhimbetka caves, where whispers of prehistoric life echoed through timeless rock shelters. This was gracefully followed by a tribute to the legendary Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar, whose benevolence and vision etched a golden chapter in the glorious history of Madhya Pradesh. The lush wilderness of the state’s famed wildlife reserves and sanctuaries was brought to life through vivid depictions, reminding all of the natural treasures harbored within its embrace. A resplendent highlight of the day was the captivating talk show Namaste Madhya Pradesh, where the stories of stalwarts like Tansen, Lata Mangeshkar, Rani Durgawati, and Raja Bhoj were brought to life, resonating with the pride of generations. A heartfelt medley paid tribute to the eternal voices of Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar, stirring the audience with nostalgia and reverence. The cultural crescendo continued with an electrifying tribal dance and a profound documentary on the indigenous tribes of Madhya Pradesh—Gonds, Bhils, Baigas, Korkus and Sahariyas—enhanced by informative presentations by Shishyans that showcased the vibrant, living traditions of these communities. Altogether, the event was not merely a celebration, but a poetic homage to the soul of Madhya Pradesh—radiant, rooted, and resplendent in its timeless glory.
