Aug 29, 2023 / National Sports Day Celebrations
‘It is not my country’s duty to push me ahead. It is my duty to push my country ahead.’
-Major Dhyan Chand
Indian National Sports Day is celebrated on August 29th each year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, a legendary field hockey player and an iconic figure in Indian sports history.
The Indian National Sports Day was celebrated with fervor at our school, with a unique and energetic event that left a lasting impression on all. Students from grades IV to XI participated in a spirited 3 km marathon, embodying the spirit of athleticism and unity.
The event kicked off early in the morning, with students donning their sports attire and excitement evident in the air. The run not only promoted physical fitness but also encouraged camaraderie among students of different age groups. The track was filled with enthusiastic participants, each determined to complete the distance.
The run was not just a display of endurance but also a tribute to Major Dhyan Chand, whose remarkable achievements in hockey continue to inspire us. The event emphasized the importance of sports in our lives, fostering teamwork, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle.
The cheering and support from teachers, staff, and fellow students added to the motivation of the participants. As the run concluded, an atmosphere of accomplishment enveloped the school grounds.
Grade I to III Shishyans weren’t far behind in the celebration of the day. A vibrant and energetic event unfolded as the school’s young athletes from Grades I to III gathered to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship at the school’s Sports Complex, which was transformed into a colorful arena of games and activities tailored to suit the different age groups. The event was a resounding triumph, fostering a love for physical activity and teamwork among the Shishyans. The young Shishyans participated with great zest, displaying their energy and enthusiasm for physical activity. The event showcased the importance of leading an active lifestyle while imparting valuable sportsmanship lessons and mutual support. The day was filled with laughter and camaraderie. The smiles on the Shishyans’ faces and the shared moments of joy served as a reminder of the significance of physical education and the spirit of unity that sports can instill.
The Pre Primary Shishyans were equally involved in making this day an eventful one. Our budding orators of Senior KG dressed as a sports personality and spoke about her/ him in an event held on Friday, August 25, 2023. It was a pleasure to watch the children donning the role of sports icons from varied fields such as Milkha Singh, Vishwanathan Anand, Sachin Tendulkar, Roger Federer, etc.
The zeal of the Junior KG children further added to the spirited atmosphere. They carried sports gears to speak about a game or sport of their choice. Their exuberance and willingness to present in front of an audience made each of them a winner.
The school’s sports department left no stone unturned to make the day memorable for our children. Various platforms were laid for the children to race and accomplish. Our tiniest members of Nursery displayed equivalent skills as the Junior and Senior KG children when they attempted the various activities. The department ensured that each child was bestowed with goodies and would return home happy, which was executed meticulously.
The happiness quotient was at its peak on this extraordinary day. The celebrations across all grades were a reminder that sports transcend boundaries and bring us all together.

Aug 25, 2023 / Chandrayaan-3 Activities (Pre-Primary)
Chandrayaan-3 was launched on 14 July 2023, at 2:35 pm and the educators of the pre- primary level applauded its launch, which they viewed live. As the success story of this unmanned craft continued, the children of this level were updated with videos and simple facts pertaining to it. The Nursery children honed their fine motor and spatial skills with ‘follow the path’ activity. They also put shape cut outs together to create tricoloured spacecrafts during their art- craft period. The Junior KG children attempted an interesting worksheet and the Senior KG created rockets with tangrams.
Parents were sent a note on Google Classroom to view the landing of Chandrayaan-3 with their ward/s and laud the historical moments.
The children of Nursery- Senior KG watched the recording the next day in school. They were also shown a 3D model, which they viewed with awe and cheered this humongous feat. True learning was witnessed when a Nursery child drew the spacecraft on his own on a slate during free play time.
