“Arise, awake, and stop not until the goal is reached,” Swami Vivekananda’s timeless words echoed through The Shishukunj International School, North Campus on Friday, January 12, 2024. This resonant quote marked the commencement of the ‘National Youth Day’, a celebration of Swamiji’s birthday, emphasizing the school’s commitment to holistic student development. The occasion witnessed the unveiling of a majestic statue dedicated to Swami Vivekananda’s enduring legacy, inspiring students to embody his teachings.
The festivities seamlessly merged with the ‘Annual Sports Meet,’ aligning with Swamiji’s vision of nurturing physical and mental strength. Swami Nirvikaranand Ji Maharaj, the Chief Guest for the event shared insightful anecdotes from Swami Vivekananda’s life, emphasizing the integral role of sports in education. On this occasion, competitions like sprint and 4×100 relay race, javelin throw, shot-put and standing broad jump etc. were organized, in which all the students participated with palpable enthusiasm. Esteemed attendees, including the school director, Mr. Dhirendra Davey, Mr. Manoj Davey, Mr. Vineet Sethia, Principal Dr. Vijay Singh Parihar, Vice Principal Ms. Asha Bhatia, Headmistress Mrs. Ameeta Chaudhary, and Mrs. Rupa Sapru graced the event with their presence. The day transformed into a vibrant sports extravaganza, reinforcing Swami Ji’s belief in the transformative power of sports in shaping resilient individuals.
As the sun set on this educational and athletic spectacle, Swami Vivekananda’s words lingered: “In a day, when you don’t come across any problems – you can be sure that you are traveling in a wrong path.” The event served as a reminder to face challenges with resilience, embodying the spirit of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings.
