National Sports Day is celebrated every year on August 29 to commemorate hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand’s birthday. A series of sporting activities and competitions were organised in the sprawling field of the school to celebrate the same with great fervour. The shooting range in the sports complex was inaugurated by Principal Ms Punita Nehru and Director Mr Manoj Davey before declaring the Athletic Meet open. All students, from Nursery to grade X participated in the athletic meet (in different venues) and exhibited their skills in 50m, 100m, 200m, 100m hurdles, 4X50m relay, 4X100m relay races, shotput and standing broad jump events. The pulsating atmosphere on the grounds served as motivation for the students to do their best. After completing different events, with much fanfare, the winners proceeded to the victory stand with aplomb. The award ceremony became a much looked forward to event. The funfair-like vibe and the cheering by the students, brought the whole ground alive. The event ended with teachers’ races and tug-of- war.
