Empowering Changemakers: AFS Global Citizenship Orientation Workshop 2026

On April 7, 2026, over 100 Class IX students participated in the AFS Global Citizenship Orientation Workshop, centred on the theme “Everyone Can Be a Changemaker.”

The session opened with a screening of Malala Introducing the Global Goals, prompting reflection on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their relevance in building a fairer, more sustainable future.

AFS Coordinator Ms. Preeti Makhijani introduced the mission of AFS and the document 170 Daily Actions to Transform Our World, underscoring how small, consistent efforts can collectively create significant impact.

Through interactive discussions, students explored how conscious choices in daily life contribute to positive change within communities and beyond. The workshop also highlighted AFS’s global initiatives and the forthcoming experiential programme, “Change Makers: Active Global Citizenship,” designed to nurture leadership, empathy, and intercultural understanding.

The session concluded on a motivational note, inspiring students to embrace responsibility and collective effort: “Real transformation begins when awareness turns into action—and every individual chooses to make a difference.”
