National Girl Child Day Celebrations

January 24 2024

Little girls with DREAMS become WOMEN with vision!

National Girl Child Day holds profound importance in promoting awareness about the rights, opportunities, and challenges faced by girls in our society. It serves as a platform to advocate for gender equality, emphasize the importance of education for girls, and address the issues often faced by them.

To promote Gender Equality and to create awareness about the rights of girls, ‘National Girl Child Day’ was celebrated on January 24, 2024, in a significant manner in the senior block of The Shishukunj International, North Campus by the students of grades VI-IX. The day was filled with an array of activities to mark the occasion including watching inspirational videos commemorating the women reformers of India.

Shishyans drew posters, crafted poems, wrote slogans and quotes to express their feelings supporting the SDG-5 Gender Equality. Students used various mediums to elucidate the fact that it is our collective responsibility to ensure that girls in society get the importance, respect, and happiness they deserve. Girls also spoke about their female role models, their aspirations in life, and the kind of support they expect from the people around them to thrive in a safe and progressive society.

In a heartwarming gesture, the boys gave a standing ovation to the females in the school corridors and acknowledged their positive role in our society. On this occasion, the educators narrated edifying stories on women’s empowerment and encouraged girls to march ahead with the torchbearers who have already trudged the tough road and gained success in their chosen professions.

A girl child is a pride and the future of our nation, let’s empower her for a better world.
