Overview
As part of World Book Day celebrations, a DEAR session was conducted where students brought their favourite storybooks to read and share. The classroom transformed into a quiet reading space as all students and teachers dropped everything to read.
Student Response
The children loved the activity. They were excited to bring books from home and eagerly showed them to their peers. Many students who are usually shy in class discussions actively participated while sharing what their book was about. The variety of books from fairy tales to comics to short moral stories created curiosity and peer-to-peer recommendations.
Impact & Benefits Observed
The DEAR session was a resounding success. It not only celebrated World Book Day meaningfully but also reinforced reading as an enjoyable habit. Parents’ support in sending books was key to making this activity special.
