World Elephant Day: Foundation Stage

August 12 2025

A Journey of Empathy and Awareness

Our young Shishyans celebrated World Elephant Day with joyful activities that combined learning and fun.

The Nursery children enjoyed an engaging story, games, and puzzles based on elephants, sparking curiosity and laughter.

Junior KG expressed their creativity through dance, art and craft, and a fun activity on elephant trunks. They shared interesting elephant facts with their classmates.

Senior KG students listened to an interesting elephant story that encouraged empathy and awareness about wildlife.

The celebration helped children connect with nature while developing imagination, confidence, and a sense of wonder.

Our Shishyans of Classes I and II came together to celebrate World Elephant Day, a day dedicated to honouring these gentle giants and raising awareness about their conservation.

As part of the observance, the Shishyans watched the acclaimed Oscar winning documentary ‘The Elephant Whisperers’, a moving portrayal of the deep bond between humans and elephants. The film beautifully highlighted the love, trust, and emotions shared between the two, leaving a lasting impression on young hearts.

Following the screening, the Shishyans engaged in a reflection activity through a thoughtfully designed worksheet. This exercise encouraged them to express their thoughts on empathy, kindness towards animals, and the importance of protecting wildlife. Their responses reflected genuine compassion and a deeper understanding of the emotional world of animals.

The day was not only an educational experience but also a heartfelt reminder that coexistence with nature begins with respect and care for all living beings.
