The Adventure of the Prince and the Princess

Shreya Shukla, Class VI G

Once upon a time, in a magnificent castle, lived a young prince and a little princess. They were very naughty and enjoyed troubling people. Once, they decided to pull a prank on a witch name Urzula.
As planned, they threw a stone into the witch’s house and ran away. The stone accidentally hit the witch. Urzula was furious and cursed whoever threw the stone to turn into a lizard and a parrot.
Alas! To their dismay, the prince and princess really turned into a parrot and a lizard. They were grief-stricken. They did every possible thing to please the witch but she did not take the curse away.
Now, the people of the kingdom did not recognize the prince and the princess. So, if they tried to get into their homes, the citizens threw stones at them or hit them with sticks.
Poor prince and princess! How they wished somebody would come to their rescue.
Finally, one day, the witch took pity on them and said to them, “You will have to go to the Faraway Tree and get me a leaf of that tree.”
The prince and princess joyfully agreed. After all, they were fed up of the treatment they had received from the people.

They brought the leaf of that tree and the witch removed the curse. As they turned back into the prince and princess, they promised never to trouble anyone in future.
