In 1857, a spark did ignite
A flame of hope, in the darkest night
The people rose, with one voice, one goal
To break the chains, and reclaim their soul.
The sepoys, they led the charge ahead
With courage, that inspired the dead
They fought for freedom, they fought for rights
For a nation, that was denied its lights.
But the British, they had the strength and might
And the rebellion was put to fight
The sepoys, they were captured and killed
But their spirit, forever thrilled.
For their sacrifices, will never be in vain
Their legacy, forever to remain
For they fought for a cause, that was just and true
And their bravery will forever shine through
The 1857 rebellion, a tale of hope
For a nation, that learned to cope
For it showed that even in the darkest hour
We can rise and reclaim our power.
