The Preetam Lal Dua Art Gallery was transformed into a sanctuary of imagination and colours on April 25 and 26, 2026, as The Shishukunj International School presented Kala Darpan—a vibrant art exhibition curated “for Shishyans, by Shishyans.”

The event, which served as a grand celebration of the students’ dedication and passion, was inaugurated by Sri. J Raj Dassani, a renowned contemporary artist and freelancer based in Indore. His presence set an inspiring tone for a weekend dedicated to the power of visual storytelling. Kala Darpan was more than just a display; it was a reflection of the young artists’ unique thoughts and vivid emotions. The exhibition featured a diverse array of artworks, including  paintings and sketches ranging from traditional styles to modern interpretations, sculptures and exquisite pieces of craft work.It highlighted the school’s effort in nurturing the patience, motor skills and creativity of the students. The exhibition successfully highlighted art as a powerful medium of communication and each piece unveiled a unique story, enabling the viewers to witness the displays through the student’s eyes.

Adding a new dimension to the exhibition, Kala Darpan exhibited live demonstrations of a water colour based landscape painting delicately woven with a story by the renowned artist Sri Shankar Shinde and  an intricately sculpted clay model of Rabindranath Tagore by Sri Gaurav Soni. These widely acclaimed artists interacted with the student artists, discussed various techniques, styles and mediums of artistic expression with finesse. These sessions provided students as well as the visitors a rare opportunity to gain first hand insight into the techniques and discipline required to master art in any form.

This two day event hosted by the Shishyans bagged an overwhelming acclaim as the connoisseurs of art applauded the students for their  immense talent and individuality. Every visitor of Kala Darpan left the gallery inspired by the boundless potential of the Shishyans.
