The Shishukunj International School, Jhalaria Campus recently organized an insightful session on “The New-Age Educator Mind set: Critical Thinking – Minding the Mind,” led by educational consultant and behavioral psychologist Dr. Madhavi Dhabholkar for three consecutive days from the 10th of June to 12th June, 2026. Teachers were engaged in constructive group discussions exploring whether disengaged students require individual examination or a homogeneous environment, concluding that children learn more from who we are than what we teach. Dr. Dhabholkar emphasized tracking the frequency, intensity, and duration of classroom behaviours while strictly cautioning against loosely labelling normal emotions as ADHD, autism, or conduct disorders, which often emerge by the age of 14.
To counter the isolating effects of the virtual screen world, the session highlighted preserving human touch, separating intrinsic human worth from adaptable skill worth, and fostering emotional resilience through real-life experiences to help students critically navigate messy emotions and uncertainty. The speaker also highlighted the importance of helping students overcome identity crisis and see a purpose in their lives so that they can believe in themselves and restore their self-worth. The workshop left the educators spellbound by the profound insights and adolescent stress management hooks shared by the very versatile Mrs. Dhabolkar. She kept educators completely engaged in activities and immersed in introspecting their classroom strategies in handling adolescents better, emotionally. Some educators said, “The workshop has left an indelible imprint on our minds and helped us evolve not only as a teacher but also as a parent and a human being.”
