This headline caught the attention of many. However, instead of simply reacting to the incident, it is important to understand the reasons behind such behavior.
Many stray dogs suffer from malnutrition, dehydration, lack of food, and irregular sleep, which can lead to stress, poor health, and frequent mood swings. When these conditions persist, even a normally calm dog may become defensive or aggressive—not because it is naturally dangerous, but because it is struggling to survive.
This is where FEEDO comes in.
FEEDO is a non-profit initiative dedicated to feeding stray dogs with nutritious meals through organized daily feeding drives and feeding stations. Our belief is simple: a well-fed dog is more likely to be healthy, calm, and less likely to become aggressive.
And yes, for those wondering, FEEDO stands for “Feed The Dogesh.” It started as a funny meme between friends, but today it has grown into something that is making a real difference in the lives of stray animals.
Today, FEEDO operates in two residential colonies, ensuring that hundreds of stray dogs receive nutritious food regularly.
Starting FEEDO was not easy.
One of the biggest challenges was finding an affordable and reliable source of quality dog food. My father and I spent several days researching suppliers and contacting different companies. Eventually, I decided to take my shot and personally emailed the owner of a leading pet food company.
To my surprise, the owner was incredibly supportive of our mission. After discussing the project, they offered us a 28% discount, making it possible for us to provide more food while keeping our costs low.
Every evening at 6:45 PM, something remarkable happens. An entire pack of dogs patiently waits for their meal, trusting that FEEDO will be there. Watching them gather every day reminds us why this initiative exists.
With the support of our partners and several NGOs, FEEDO now distributes nearly 150 kilograms of nutritious dog food every two weeks, helping improve the lives of countless stray dogs.
Every meal we provide is more than just food—it is a step toward creating healthier animals, safer communities, and a more compassionate society.
As Mahatma Gandhi once said:
“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
Let us not allow these innocent animals to go hungry. In the end, we all share the same Earth, and every act of kindness—no matter how small—has the power to create meaningful change.
