A Tree’s Thoughts

Author: Saksham Jain, Class VII C

You see me,

I am a tree,

From all hardships of life,

I am free,

don’t you agree?

But now maybe more of me you won’t see,

What have I done?

The problem is,

That root of destruction (what was it again?),

Before which if you run,

You will seek yourself in vain,

On the pristine clothes of humanity it puts a disgraceful stain,

Summer, Winter, Spring, Autumn or rain,

From running behind it you should refrain,

You think I am lying,

Ok fine go running behind it down the drain.

And now what is it called,

If I don’t remember it that’s not my fault,

Oh yes it’s that m-mm-mo- yes MONEY,

I am getting old,

But for your needs I am still bold,

So then keep your legs on hold,

I can give you things better than gold,

‘Cause I am the one, sonny,

Who gives paper for money,

When friends and I can give you honey,

Why do you run for money?

Some human who had some brains,

Who had REAL blood in his veins, spoke:

I think that the old creature is right,

For the trees we must fight,

If we want to live,

Trees have to survive,

We must repay them,

‘Cause they give us precious oxygen,

They have always given and never taken,

I won’t ever see anything as glorious, majestic, clean and beautiful,

As a tree,

Aren’t these words correctly said by me ?

There can be nothing like a tree,

These words are not just said by a nature-loving-dude like me,

But by every one who loves the tree,

Don’t you agree?
