Fear

Author: Rajat Agrawal, Class IX B

Fear
A feeling of chill down my spine
When I look at the old house covered with vines
Stories spread that something suspicious resides there
Because someone coming back from that house is rare
Even if they do return
Their health is a concern

Stories claim, once an old man lived there all alone
And he made the house his private zone
On a no moon night he died
But his death is still not justified
If someone enters the house on being curious
That made the mysteries inside the house furious

This is something in which my scientific mind does not believe
And for me it seems to be a conspiracy
But I still get an awkward feeling when I go near
And this is what I call fear.

Exam
I don’t know why I hate exam
Even after studying hard the result makes me scram
It is a period of prolonged tension
That requires your excessive attention
It is a thing that all students face
In the Indian society, it is classified as a race

I don’t know why I hate exam
I feel that it is totally a scam
With education based on rote learning
Which doesn’t provide you good earning
Every year 30% engineers are unemployed
Hence their life becomes totally annoyed

I don’t know why I hate exam
It’s too difficult for me to grasp
For it is too boring
And always gets me snoring
Education system has to go a long way
It cannot be changed in a single day

MSD
Who changed the match staying behind the stumps?
Who caught the ball with his long jumps?
Whose decision is most authentic?
Whose helicopter shot is aesthetic?

Who is known as the best finisher?
Who has a marvelous signature?
Who always promoted young talent?
Whose mind is always balanced?

Who is known as captain cool?
If he is the principal, cricket is a school
This is how he has always been
Winning a game is in his genes.

Growing Older
From crying loudly for pity,
To crying silently,
We grew up.
From being idiotic,
To being demonic,
We grew up.

From getting excited about our birthday,
To treating it as a normal day,
We grew up.
From just speaking,
To just listening,
We grew up.

From walking away from our problems,
To facing them,
We grew up.
From crying in harsh times,
To enjoying them,
We grew up.

From arguing with elders,
To adjusting according to them,
We grew up.
From day-dreaming,
To fulfilling those aspirations,
We grew up.

Gaming
Prejudices about gaming are wrong
Impact of it on mind is strong
It can benefit your mind, heart and spirit,
If done in an appropriate limit

Excess of anything is chaotic
Gaming is also hypnotic
Hence should be done within boundaries
Or it has some serious injuries

May the game be physical or virtual
Lessons learnt are very special
May it be teamwork, analysis or decision making,
These can’t be learnt via hearing

Games provide you a break from your routine
So your extra stress is clean
They increase your persistence and aim
This is what I call a game!

Teachers
They are the kings of the class
By their say-so, anything can pass
They push us to attain knowledge
May it be tuition, school or college
They are like magicians
They always take the right decision
They are our guiding spirit
Their qualities we inherit
Having one is a blessing
Never fear their addressing
All the students should do is be grateful
Because having no teacher is painful.
