I hate navy,
A colour so ambiguous and gloomy
Yet the abyss is navy,
The apex is navy
Hilarious of fate to leave me in blue,
while I struggled to bid the crimson adieu
Alas I knew a drag path had to be chosen,
pick a pain that’d leave me frozen
Inevitable they say,
My soul requested “If I may?”
It tormented me through the visions of crimson lily,
how the fragrance made me giggle so silly
Mama’s sweet girl I was,
Aware of nostalgia’s malevolent claws
So I tie the thorn laden vine to tether me just fine,
Crimson blood blooming on these ankles of mine
A voice whispers “look how bright” with a false laugh,
But it isn’t bright like the knitted crimson scarf
It wasn’t a sting demanding a grunt,
But an abiding ache as I faced the brunt
At the end
Still I plunged, into a dive I rued,
Life could just be so shrewd.
