A person is sad, their spirit low,
Angry and impatient, but they put on a show.
Will you pause to truly hear them now?
To that tough question, what is your vow?
I still contemplate the things I have done,
How I can truly make amends to everyone,
Others might suggest a hobby or play,
But they alone know what is deep inside today.
If I am present, ready to lend,
Will you offer aid, a helpful friend?
Will you listen without making a sound?
Because the impact will always resound.
I will try to listen, reaching out with my hand,
And help if I can, across this troubled land.
I question you once more, as the feelings begin,
Will you truly help those who hold sadness within?
