Alumni Talk : Pranit Gupta Batch of 2017-18

April 26 2024

Shishukunj was buzzing with enthusiasm on April 26, 2024 as former Head Boy, Pranit Gupta, returned to his alma mater to conduct an engaging seminar for the students of Classes IX – XII  about his journey from studying in Shishukunj to designing an award-winning thesis as a Dartmouth alumni and becoming a successful, admirable professional economic analyst at Boston’s Analysis Group.

Throughout the seminar, Pranit guided the young students on the importance of exploring opportunities outside one’s comfort zone, and shared with the students his own stories of attending MUNs during his years in Shishukunj, and how they helped him grow out of his shell into an identity of his own.

Discussing life abroad, Pranit also dived into professional life in the United States, sharing his own personal experiences with expectations, work ethics, and the entrepreneurial spirit of American culture.

The inquisitive young minds of  Shishyans made the session further interesting as questions arose about developing a career in economics, designing a thoughtful thesis, applying to colleges abroad, and the discrimination elements of pursuing a professional life outside India. Students and teachers alike shared their own stories and made the session infinitely more memorable.

Finally transitioning onto the subject of happiness, Pravnit sparked a thoughtful dialogue on what it means to be truly happy. He challenged students to not view passion and profitability as mutually exclusive, and shared a  personal story of his own new project, Safar, illustrating the beauty that lies in a blend of meaningful work, the pursuit of passion and the true meaning behind joy.
