Students of Classes III F, IV E and V C presented the special assembly ‘Darpan’ on the theme ‘language and communication’.

The programme opened with an English skit on different forms of communication and the significance of using the right words. This was followed by a prayer in the form of a song.

A video that captured the Shishyans’ attention highlighted the importance of multilingualism, featuring facts such as the number of languages we see on Indian currency notes and a village in Karnataka where Sanskrit is still spoken.

A group dance to a song that incorporated eighteen languages of the world celebrated linguistic diversity in a joyful way. This was followed by a Hindi skit on the need for appropriate language, with the correct punctuation, to put across messages precisely and meaningfully. 

The assembly presentation concluded with the recitation of ‘dohas’ or couplets on ‘vaani’ (speech), reflecting on the mindful use of language.
