The school celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour on 15 August 2026 . The celebration brought together the school community in a spirit of pride, gratitude and togetherness.
The programme began with the felicitation of the guests, including members of the management and the school’s cherished Driver Bhaiya and Mess Didi, who were accompanied by their families. This heartfelt gesture acknowledged their valuable contribution to the school community.
The NCC Parade was followed by the ceremonial flag hoisting, after which the gathering stood together for the National Pledge. An inspiring English speech by Nivedita Mehta of Class XI highlighted the true meaning of Independence Day and reminded everyone that patriotism is not merely about what the nation can do for us, but also about what we can do for our nation.
The celebrations then moved into a vibrant showcase of India’s rich cultural heritage with the Inter-House Folk Song Competition. Shishyans presented beautiful regional songs, celebrating the diversity of our country. Kalam House secured the first position, Lata Mangeshkar House the second, and Dhyan Chand House the third.
The cultural segment continued with a Hindi Kavita presented by ___, ___, ___ and ___, followed by a powerful mime act on Chandrashekhar Azad and his contribution to the freedom movement. Students also showcased their discipline and flexibility through a yoga act, while students of Classes VI to X presented a graceful classical dance.
The celebration also recognised the enthusiastic participation of the houses, with Devi Ahilya House winning the trophy for highest attendance. The programme was smoothly anchored by four student anchors, whose confidence and coordination kept the proceedings engaging and seamless.
The event was a fitting tribute to the spirit of freedom and the sacrifices of our national heroes, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of patriotism, gratitude and responsibility towards the nation.
