Media, in all its forms, is a crucial part of everyone’s lives. August at the Shishukunj International School ended with a bang as months of hard work put in by Shishyans finally materialised into the Perfect Pitch—a one-of-a-kind competition where teams from each house pitched a movie and book to the audience and a panel of judges.
These books and movies were equal parts entertaining and educational. Beginning with the classic Jane Austen novel, Little Women, as the book round progressed, the audience was slowly persuaded to pick up not only fiction but also thought-provoking memoirs like Becoming, Oppenheimer, and the Pursuit of Happiness. The movie round was also just as engaging, as the participants talked about movies from several genres, making sure there was something for everyone. From movie-bluff favourites like Interstellar and The Life of Pi to modern classics like The Devil Wears Prada and Barbie, the audience was undoubtedly engrossed for every single minute of the competition.
The event concluded with the Dhyanchand emerging victorious in both the book and the movie rounds . The results were as under:
