Our youngest Shishyans in Classes I and II turned into mini-scientists today as we celebrated National Science Day! The classrooms were buzzing with curiosity as we honoured the discovery of the Raman Effect and the wonders of the world around us. The day kicked off with an interactive presentation designed to show our students that science isn’t just a subject in a book – it’s everywhere! From why bubbles are round to how plants ‘drink’, the highlight for many was the simplified explanation of why the sea looks blue. The kids were fascinated to learn that light ‘bounces’ and ‘scatters’, a concept that Sir C.V. Raman proved to the world nearly a century ago.
It was a day filled with ‘Aha!’ moments and wide-eyed wonder. By sparking this early interest, we hope to nurture the next generation of innovators who will one day make discoveries of their own.
“The essence of science is independent thinking, hard work, and not equipment.” Sir C.V. Raman
