The Mahesh Drishtiheen Sangh, Indore, brought the spirit of Raksha Bandhan to life with a meaningful initiative at school on August 12 and 13, 2026, by organising a sale of beautifully handcrafted Raakhis.
Meticulously made by visually challenged children, each Rakhi was a labour of love, creativity and perseverance. The designs were warmly appreciated by students and educators alike, and the overwhelming response to the sale brought immense joy to the talented young makers.
By choosing these handcrafted Raakhis, students did more than take home a beautiful symbol of love and affection—they extended a hand of support, encouragement and dignity to children with visual challenges.
In every Rakhi they purchased was a message far more precious than the thread itself: that every individual has the ability to create, contribute and inspire.
This Raksha Bandhan, our students celebrated not merely a bond between siblings, but a larger bond of empathy, gratitude and compassion.
