The 79th Independence Day at Shishukunj was a day full of pride, joy, and unity. Students and teachers came together to celebrate our nation and the values that make us who we are.
The special guests were our didis and bhaiyas—the people who work every day to keep our campus spotless, our classrooms ready, and our days running smoothly . They watched with pride as the NCC Parade marched in perfect sync, followed by the Flag Hoisting ceremony. The tricolour rose high into the clear sky, and the NCC Salute honoured the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. The National Anthem and Pledge brought everyone together in a moment of respect and commitment to the nation.
A heartfelt Patriotic Song filled the air with emotion, leading into the exciting Mallakhamb display, where students showed amazing strength, balance, and discipline. An insightful Speech in English reflected on the meaning of independence in today’s ever-changing world, urging us to be mindful citizens who contribute positively to society.
The Inter House Folk Song Competition was one of the most awaited events of the day, showcasing songs from different parts of India. Dhyanchand House took first place, Kalam House came second, and Ahilya House stood third. The stage then came alive with a fast-paced Skating performance and a graceful Folk Dance that celebrated our cultural roots.
The announcement of Devi Ahilya House as the winner for Highest Attendance brought loud cheers from their team. The celebration ended with an energetic Western Dance and a warm Vote of Thanks.
Finally, everyone enjoyed a delicious breakfast of poha and hot jalebis, ending the morning on a sweet note.
This year’s Independence Day was more than just a celebration—it was about honouring the people who make our school what it is, celebrating our culture, and remembering the unity that binds us all together.
