Life Never Expected

Who said life’s going to be tough?
But why do you expect it to be a cake walk?
Nothing is hard, when there’s a genuine will.

Let the world be,
Be who you shall be.

Why memorize the words of others,
Make your own dictionary.

Why do you have to chase those worries,
When
Peace open armed stands by your side.

Why do you believe what is false,
Then hearing my truth?

I know life is not easy, not appealing, not always the way you desire,
but that’s the thrill.

Remember, to DO it. Face the fear,
laugh at it as it crumbles to nothing.

Do what no one thought,
let those who underestimated you,
gaze at you in awe.

Maturing needn’t be pleasant, nor as smooth as you thought,
But know that it’s not as rough as we fear.

You worked, so keep going,
don’t let these mischievous demons
let in nor soil your potential.

Kick ‘em off, you have a life uncharted,
Write it on your own, with your own hands.
For your own path.

My Satisfaction

I get satisfaction
when I get to choose my own fashion.
You see, I am old enough
to be a little tough.
And I don’t require my mom
For a small cough.

But as the Almighty says,
“Mom is a soul to never go away.”

I get satisfaction
when I control my own actions.
But when I do something wrong,
I need to be reminded by my mom.
I used to get angry at her
and not talk for hours.

But as the Almighty says,
“Mom is a soul to never go away.”

I get satisfaction
when I have no playing limitations.
I can play for hours at a time
and I will be just fine.

But when I get a little cough,
My mom has to be tough.
And after writing this poem,
I am going to go home
And thank my hard-working mom.

Now I agree when the Almighty says,
“Mom is a soul to never go away.”

Anatomy Of Life

A heart, filled with love and emotions,
Brain, filled with insecurities and doubts,
While breathing in all the negativity,
Lungs, which tend to purify them out.

Cold blood, flowing endlessly in the body,
Kidneys, which help in filtering it through,
Stomach, digesting everything pure and toxic,
Veins, present in every shade of blue.

Sore eyes, struggling to hold back an ocean,
Genuine smile, which is always a ticking clock,
Sensitive nose, smelling mostly the weaknesses,
Sharp ears, which never seem to leave a mock.

All these parts form a strong anatomy,
Creating the whole will not take a beat,
One has got to have all the pieces to thrive,
Leaving behind even one of them just won’t be neat.
