My Satisfaction

I get satisfaction
when I get to choose my own fashion.
You see, I am old enough
to be a little tough.
And I don’t require my mom
For a small cough.

But as the Almighty says,
“Mom is a soul to never go away.”

I get satisfaction
when I control my own actions.
But when I do something wrong,
I need to be reminded by my mom.
I used to get angry at her
and not talk for hours.

But as the Almighty says,
“Mom is a soul to never go away.”

I get satisfaction
when I have no playing limitations.
I can play for hours at a time
and I will be just fine.

But when I get a little cough,
My mom has to be tough.
And after writing this poem,
I am going to go home
And thank my hard-working mom.

Now I agree when the Almighty says,
“Mom is a soul to never go away.”

Anatomy Of Life

A heart, filled with love and emotions,
Brain, filled with insecurities and doubts,
While breathing in all the negativity,
Lungs, which tend to purify them out.

Cold blood, flowing endlessly in the body,
Kidneys, which help in filtering it through,
Stomach, digesting everything pure and toxic,
Veins, present in every shade of blue.

Sore eyes, struggling to hold back an ocean,
Genuine smile, which is always a ticking clock,
Sensitive nose, smelling mostly the weaknesses,
Sharp ears, which never seem to leave a mock.

All these parts form a strong anatomy,
Creating the whole will not take a beat,
One has got to have all the pieces to thrive,
Leaving behind even one of them just won’t be neat.

The Unspoken Truth

ROSES

The rose gardens
Pretty as ever,
Are now moving towards the
Undesirable darkness.
The rose gardens
Don’t bloom anymore
The dew on the roses
Doesn’t shine no more.
As a prize, the thorns
The unwanted flaws
Are taking over
The undenied beauty
Of these roses.
The rose isn’t aware
It’s no longer wanted,
Or admired, but sure is
Looked upon.
Even though, it knows
it is meant to wilt,
Droop against the ground
It knows, the night
Is about to unleash
The roses are now,
Dead within.

THE UNSPOKEN TRUTH

Am I too old to hide under the bed?
I’m stuck in a storm,
But the storm’s inside my head.
All I see is lightning,
All I hear is thunder
Just one boom coming one after another.
I once was blind,
But now I see
The blindfold folds have unfolded from me
But try as I might, to close my eyes,
And shut them tight,
To go back to black
To not knowing, to trust
Because now that I know,
I know what I must do for you.
What you’ve made me be
And I’d give anything to wash it away
Scrub and scrub that damn spot out
But you can’t wash off a tattoo
Because now you see
I’m culpable too.

I gnash and gnarl and gnaw
Until I’m raw
My vocal cords vibrating with vicious vital truths,
That I need to speak,
And you need to hear.

My tongue undulating with
Undue burden of silence
But the sound chokes back
Into my throat.
A hard swollen lump, I’ve swallowed down
I’m sick of suffering in silence.
Today, I will stomp, and scream
And shout.
Until every word inside of me,
Is out.
Today, I want to come clean
Of the sins I didn’t mean.
Now I’m guilty
Oh dear diary,
Can’t you see?

Thank You DAD

Hi Dad,
Thanks for always saying a yes,
when mum said a no.
Through good or bad
I always knew you had my back

For any quarrel we ever had,
That just made me so sad
How can I find words,
To let you know how much I care?
To thank you Dad for all you do and for always being there.

It’s just difficult to portray you in words
because you are a jar full of different flavoured candies.
I feel extremely proud when I am told that I reflect the younger you.
It’s just you in me.

I love you always no matter how cranky I can be sometimes.
Yours

If You Want to Read a Book

Don’t you love to read a book,
sitting in a cozy nook?

If you want to read a book
Just take one and read.
Of sunset sky and a brook
of flowers or a seed.

When you’re not in the mood
do not be a crook.
Pretending to read as you brood
Soon you will miss your book.

In the garden of your mind
Do plant a seed
And start to read!

Autumn Leaves

AUTUMN LEAVES
It’s time to set them free

Do you know why leaves fall out,
When it’s all dry and autumn falls?
They work hard all summer, day and night
Till fall comes out.

Have you ever thought why the leaves come out?
When the wind is high and they wither.
You might think they all just die being a loser.

But have you thought that they worked over time,
Tired yet just working fine?
Don’t you think that they all deserve
Care and love, from mother nature?

Don’t you think it’s time to set them free?
Hence, they fall off from the trees,
Back to mother nature’s seek.

LIFE IS COLOURFUL

Life can change colours as quick as a chameleon,
Everyone can be as dumb as the donkey or as fierce as a lion.

Life is unpredictable,
Not always detectable.
It can show its best side,
As well as its worst.

Life shows many colours,
Colours of sadness, joy, anger, jealousy, loneliness and others.

It can show its glory,
But only to those who can think of it.

Hence, the colours of life are felt,
Not got on rent.

Something Beyond

As I pen my thoughts on this paper
I can smell the fragrance of faint vapour
My day is somewhat forgotten in this thought
After taking my evening walk
I might as well give you a shock!

If god is there high up beyond the sky,
I hope to meet him after I die.
When death pays a visit
To my house by the shore,
I hope it doesn’t ask about my caste or gender.
I hope up there somewhere I find equality and tranquillity.

So I pray to the almighty
If knowingly or blindly, in love not hate,
Forgive me for my sins
So when I stand in the court of justice
Where the judge of all this splendour is present
There where my soul will say nothing but the truth
Where my soul is free of feelings and the relations it bound

Floating through the universe
Finding a new galaxy
Of some different clause
To diminish human flaws
Where I find a different GOD!

A Teenager’s Life

This is written in everyone’s fate,
I know that you can relate.
Your mother goes all day nagging,
pleading with you to finish your homework and get off the gadget.
She says it’s so tragic,
to see you “wasting” your life on the tablet.
Yet normally dad reaches there to your rescue,
convincing mom to give you two more minutes at least.
School isn’t any less than home,
but the thought of people who’re experiencing the same gets us in control.
As we grow older,
classes get tougher and lead us to think that we’ve stopped thriving.
Most people express that in writing,
while some sit in a corner and will be crying.
Over results and friendship drama,
adults don’t understand but that’s the real trauma.
Some friendships break and some start over.
With exposure to new things, this life won’t be so polar.
Don’t worry, problems do fade, so you shouldn’t be so afraid.
Nonetheless I say, teenage life is great, it’s golden
So enjoy your precious 2556 days!

Something Weird in Space

I saw something weird in the night sky
The news said it was a sky maze.

There’s something new in space.
It could be a planet, a black hole, or a shooting star.

Then again, the news said
The astronauts in space
spotted something new and were amazed

It’s as weird as anything can be.
After months of searching and still in vain.
The scientists could not identify it and felt their knowledge was simply plain

Every day in the night sky I can see it shining bright and beautiful,
Still smiling at me, still surviving and thriving.

Nature

Nature

Everything around us is nature,
God has given us this feature.

Birds fly high up in the sky,
And mountains are too high.

The trees are green,
The environment is serene.

We are being malicious to it,
But it never does us wrong.

I request you to leave it as it is,
And not play with it!!

My Glorious Childhood

My mother tells me about it,
And I still remember it a bit.
The time when I was too innocent,
And yet magnificent.
I used to have tons of toys.
That time was filled with happiness and joy.
Then the life was alluring;
But now it is becoming boring.
If God would ever ask me for my wish of any times,
I would wish to become smart and good,
But my first preference will be my childhood!!
