Uncertain

Is it just me or the faces are two?
Something is off;
Maybe it’s true.

Those masks drove me to somewhere unknown,
They have a seed of trust so far sown.

None of them seems unfamiliar,
Then what is it that’s making me uncertain?

It’s the situation,
Or the
Faces I see in this situation?

Someone is warm,
Someone is cold.

But the warmth feels cold,
And the cold feels warm.

Is it just me or the faces are two?
Something is off;
Maybe it’s true.

Why do I still don’t believe whom I’ve always known,
But why do I trust someone who I recently met?

Why are the three sides of every time,
What I see,
What you know,
and the truth.

Is it just me or the faces are two?
Something is off;
Maybe it’s true.

My Wishes

Whenever I see the night sky,
When I gaze at its scintillating star,
I just wish I could freely fly,
And travel to all lands far.

I wish I could see the creek,
Pure and abundant with water,
I wish I could take a peek,
And read the books of Harry Potter.

I wish I could share my pain,
With someone, but not too loud.
I wish I could teach the vain,
To be humble and not proud.

But alas, I am not free,
As I am nothing but a caged bird.
But one day, I believe I’ll see,
All my wishes, without a word.

Diwali

Playing in the garden they saw someone,
Innocent as a dove, his face shining like the sun,
In whatever he may do, they found something special,
Gazing at him walk by, people knew he was exceptional.

He was the son of Dashratha,
The eldest of them all,
But somehow the light within shone forth,
And each problem he succeeded to forestall.

All knew he would be the chosen heir,
But as is said, “Life isn’t always fair.”
Then came in Manthara, Kaikeyi’s maidservant;
Enraged by the news of the crowning in torment.

Kaikeyi asked for a boon; one no one had foreseen,
“Make Bharat king, I want you to decree.
As for Ram comes a 14-year-exile,
Introducing a complete change in his profile.”

Forward walked Ram, his face expressionless;
But towards his mother he was respectful.
Obeying her orders with full contentedness,
He went into exile with not one question.

With him went Sita, and his brother Lakshman,
And there he set foot outside the fort.
Outside to carry them waited charioteers and carmen;
And villagers in dismay ridiculing the court.

Then one day came a saint looking for alms,
Who in true identity was Ravana in disguise.
He knew that Sita would have no qualms,
In giving away and not defy.

In giving away, Sita crossed the line,
The Lakshman rekha; with powers divine.
Ravana seized her hand; she backed away,
But it was all in vain at the end of the day.

He pushed her into his chariot, and rode to his kingdom,
Lanka, the fabled land of wisdom;
And there he held her hostage for long,
For he had been awaiting Ram’s presence all along.

He knew Ram would come to free his beloved wife,
But it would lead to conflict and strife.
He waited patiently for the one most valorous,
Or so-called, as Ravana would say, thinking he was more glorious.

Then one day, with the Vanara-Sena,
Came Ram, along with his brother Lakshmana.
Supported by Vibhishana, plotting the strategy to kill,
The demon-king, with a growl shrill.

He readied his arrows, and shot straight upward,
Straight into Ravana’s navel.
It seemed preposterous to most,
But the arrow hit hard, and made him unstable.

Ravana was slain, and victory was theirs,
And as is said, “Good triumphs over evil.”
The news was joyous, the celebrations began,
Not only in Ayodhya, but also in the forelands.

People lit paths with earthen lamps,
Welcoming them to their motherland.
And that’s how emerged the idea of the glory,
Of the festival of prosperity, the auspicious Diwali.

True Goals

What really is a blessing?
Money, a mere paper
Fame, an utter attention
Bungalows, a waste of space
Run after these riches, what you’ll find is hunger
Boundless thirst makes grief knock your door
True riches are much like water
Never measured, never caged
The soft zephyr in endless greens
Mirth which brings tears
A loving hug from a precious jewel
A heavenly taste, a gleeful sight
Come sit by me, gaze the world
Material wealth they all possess
Tall skyscrapers they see each day
What they seek is what you have
The blessing to witness beauty of dust
True wisdom of how material wealth isn’t smiles.

Travelling with Books

Potter, you’re the Chosen One,
Oh, Froddo Baggins, look at what you’ve done!
Take a break, Percy, it must be hard to fight monsters everyday,
Cinderella, don’t run away!
Oh my god, Oliver Twist has asked for more!
Jim Hawkins, you have to reach the shore!
In the end, Jason, you’ve got to lead.
All this in the mist of Jo March continuing to read.
Our Little Woman understands the joy of reading,
A joy we should all be spreading!
It’s how I travel the world sitting in my room,
It’s how I experience bliss, misery and doom.
Don’t you remember when Anne Frank went into hiding?
Or when Severus Snape was forced to do Voldemort’s bidding?
Maybe you remember how spoiled Veruca Salt and her father were,
Or maybe you remember the red headed Little Star?
Books, books, don’t they sound great?
Every character, every story, each a different fate.
One thing connects them all,
One thing that connects every beautiful scroll,
The fact that every book helps us imagine, succeed,
Is the reason I love to read!

The Story of My Life

With a beginning I can’t remember,
And an end I can’t predict,
My adventure continues,
Although the stumbles actually hurt quite a bit.

I have so many things to look forward to,
So many things to do.
So many places to go to,
So many chips to chew.

My story has everything,
It has all the emotions you know.
Triumph, disaster, triumph, disaster,
I lied before now you know.

With a beginning I can’t remember,
And an end I can’t predict,
My adventure continues,
With so much coffee to sip.

Television

The dreaded horrid beastly box,
Is just a perfect hoax,
If you stare at it your eyes get sore,
I dunno how people watch such a bore,
It squabbles and squeaks all day long,
It’s just like a misshapen song,
The television lovers, won’t you like to see,
More views written by me?
In almost every house I’ve been,
I’ve watched people gaping at the screen,
They sit and stare and stare and sit,
Until they’re completely hypnotized by it!
Oh please just throw it away!
I think it rots the corner of your dining room,
Sweep it out with a giant broom,
Whatever you do, don’t say!
Don’t tell me you can’t whisk it away!
“But…how’re we supposed to entertain ourselves?”
Just go ahead, look at your shelves,
Filled with books you never noticed,
Because of the silly box, the fun you missed!
Fill your shelves with loads of books,
Ignore all the sulky looks,
Just sitting there on your couch,
You trick Harry with Barty Crouch,
Just the very next day,
You lead Hansel and Gretel astray,
Whether you’re with Oliver Twist,
Or tricking Mr and Mrs Twit,
There’s always something fun to do,
It’s always a relief to be away from the true,
And soon, blink of an eye,
And everyone’s ready to buy and buy!
Everyone’s thanking you, every grownup and kid,
Everyone’s thanking you for what you did!
READ!! READ!!! Books everywhere!
Books, Happiness in the air!

Stay Gold

Yes, these days aren’t so bright
Overthinking wakes you up all night
And at times you never get the limelight
Things just don’t seem to be going your way right

Some people seem totally fine
In your eyes, they publicly shine
And this makes you even more hopeless
But you’ll never know their personal mess

All this show off, is a temporary appeal
Everything changes with time
Just be a little more patient
And see the coming years make you prime

Instances that make you feel dull, avoid them at your best
Embrace those lone cheerful ones
And always, when you’re feeling low
List those savages that make you glow

And letting others frame your destiny
Is getting things made much messier
Our lives are separate and so is our goal
Letting others play with our lives is just like a massive troll

Yes, others’ opinions do matter for our growth
But don’t let them change your self ever
And make this tight that you are bright
Or else you’ll regret forever

Now that you know your worth
Celebrate yourself
And don’t care what others think about you
You have time for better things don’t you?

Tides

Firstly, Hello everyone!
I am going to tell something interesting and fun,
Let’s discuss about tides
and their relationship with the Moon and Sun.

Earth is not a perfect sphere,
It is stretched slightly from both sides
One from Sun-other from Moon,
A gift from gravity-Tides.

Now, let me tell a story,
to make this tide-thing clear,
a non-fiction type; it happened to me,
a tale you’ll love to hear.

One day, I was on the beach,
But Alas! The beach was all wet.
You wouldn’t like it either,
A problem had we met!

But then my mother told me,
The other day, there was a full Moon,
It pulled the water to itself with gravity,
and lost contact till noon.

When it lost the contact,
The whole beach was soaked-
But don’t worry, I still had fun,
rode a horse, collected shells
and much, much more!

The thing which happened with the Moon,
also happens with the Sun,
I hope you liked the subject,
and now we’re all done!
