Mumma

Ananya Khandelwal, Class X D

Mumma,
You are the hero of my life,
The superstar of my dreams.
I don’t know where to start
But I know you’ll always be there
Through every thick and thin.
A ‘thank you’ won’t be enough
For your pains, efforts and love.
The way you are, the way you smile,
The you look after and the way you love.
Mumma,
You are the hero of my life,
The superstar of my dreams.
From waiting for my return from school,
To talking to me for hours in the night,
Your actions never fail to pour,
The unconditional love from your heart.
I don’t know what I’d do without you,
The thought of a second without you scares me.
Mumma,
You are the hero of my life,
The superstar of my dreams.
I love you more than words can express.
So, every night, I pray to god,
To bless every daughter with
A mother like you,

With a heart of gold.

Silence or Speech?

Bhavya Sikarwar, Class IX B

Out of all the mind-boggling debates, in my opinion, one is secretly very prominent. Ages ago, revered religions, great thinkers and leaders adjudged silence as the best form of speech. In the present, we hear about people fighting for the right to speech. We hear about leaders using their speech as the most potent weapons capable of beginning or halting destructive wars. Words seem to be becoming mightier than the sword. It is hard to decide what would lead us to our goal – our silence or our speech.
On one hand we are told that people who are really wise and possess knowledge prefer to be silent. This contradicts the fact that in the current competitive world, the people who loudly display their talent gain the spotlight. Our inner-self has trouble deciding what to choose.
Both speech and silence come in two varieties. One which is ignorant, unaware or proud and the other which is knowledgeable, deep and wise. I think speech and silence both are an art. That’s why some speeches inspire us and some silences move us. Due to our nature, we might be more inclined towards one of the two.

We should analyze the situation and choose what is best in a particular situation. Be honest to our conscience instead of following the masses.

Blessings of Nature

Hridhima Tyagi, Class VIII B

Nature is a beauty,
Expressing the god.
Nature is perfect,
It has no flaws.
Nature is fresh,
It must be cared.
Nature is the best,
Nothing can be compared.
Nature is so selfless,
It gives us everything.
Fruits and meat to eat,
Melodious birds to sing.
Save nature,
Or else you’ll be in trouble.
Protect nature,
Don’t make it dull.

My Dreams

Ujjwal Patidar, Class VIII B

I wish to be an IITian,
I wish to be a businessman,
I want to be rich,
I want to be an astronaut.
I wish to become an honest person,
I want to become a faithful citizen.
All these are my happy dreams.
One day my dreams will come true
And I wish that everyone’s dreams come true.
All these are my wishes,
All these are my dreams.

The Beauty of Nature

Avani Mundra, Class X D

A plethora of adventures,
A colossal amusement park,
I am Nature, the rejoicing Nature,
Full of beauty and birds,
Scattered with the most attractive flowers,
Enlightened by the glowworms at night,
I am a cycle of eternity,
Recreating life to all who need it.
To those who judge me as bad or good
I want to tell,
It’s not what I am, it’s how you’ve made me,
I was always a relief to human eye,

A satisfaction to the animals.

My Three Wishes

Vidhi Kothari, Class X D

It was a bright elated day
And by that charming sunshine
I was forcefully inclined
To imagine…
What would be my three wishes
Which were till now
Buried very deep. And this
Is what came to my mind.
Firstly, I want to fly high,
High above the sky.
To have a world tour,
Namaste! Ola! Bonjour!
Second, no scolding
From teachers and parents.
To achieve this,
I got to get good marks.
Third, I know
It’s not as romantic as Bella
But still I want a

Pool full of Nutella!

The Ocean Party

Two poems by
Vasudha Gupta, Class VIII B
The Ocean Party
Look at the ocean
Dancing in the moon,
Isn’t this treat
A bit too soon?
Look at the waves,
Pushing each other,
Maybe the hall,
Is quite full.
Oh! The Cow Jumped Over The Moon
The moon got scared
When the cow jumped over him
Without any care
The stars
Brightened their glare

To have a merry stare.

Friends and books

Vartika Jain, Class IX D

Friends
The people whom we trust.
Friends are a must.
Best friends forever.
Friends should be lost never.

Laughing, playing and chatting,
All friends have the same liking.
They are like bunches of flowers, not in a mess
But owning the power of togetherness.

When all of them are together, they make some noise
However having their own fun allows them to rejoice.
People whom we trust,
Friends are must

Books
Books too are our friends,
With the friendship that never ends.
They never demand nor do they complain,
Books just are a boon and no bane.
