तिरंगे सा मस्तक

भारत की गिनती आज विकासोन्मुख देशों में होती है | परन्तु एक कटु सत्य यह भी है भारत का एक वर्ग है जो ऐसे गाँव, बस्तियों में या शहरों की चालों या गलियों में बसता है जहाँ जीवन प्रगतिशीलता से आज भी कोसो दूर है |

ऐसे ही भारत के किसी अनजान, अविकसित हिस्से में प्रेम नामक बीज में देशभक्ति के अंकुर धीमे-धीमे फूट रहे थे | तेरह वर्ष की छोटी से आयु में प्रेम को विकास और पश्चिमीकरण में अंतर समझ आ गया था | वह किसी भी अन्य भारतवासी की भान्ति देशप्रेम की मात्र बातें नहीं करता था, बल्कि देश के प्रति उसके ह्रदय में जूनून था |

धन के अभाव में, टपरियों पर चाय बेचकर उसने अपनी विद्यालयीन शिक्षा प्राप्त कर ली | तत्पश्चात, छात्रवृत्ति के बल पर कॉलेज में भी दाखिला ले लिया | हर क्षण अमीर बिगड़े छात्रों के मध्य वह अपनी फटी जीन्स और टूटी सायकल को देखता तो प्रेम के चेहरे पर एक संतुष्टि भरी मुस्कान आ जाती |

छः वर्षों के संघर्ष के पश्चात् उसे इंग्लैंड से नौकरी का प्रस्ताव आया | वह देश छोड़ना तो नहीं चाहता था पर अपने माता-पिता का नाम रोशन करने के लिए वह चला गया |

अंग्रेज उसके संस्कारों और कुशलता को देख प्रसन्न हुए | प्रेम के लिए विकास के सारे मार्ग खुल रहे थे | परन्तु उनकी एक शर्त को प्रेम ने सिरे से नकार दिया |

अंग्रेज चाहते थे की तिरंगे के स्थान पर प्रेम अपने केबिन में विदेशी झंडा लगाये |

प्रेम ने कहा, “तिरंगे सा ऊंचा मेरा मस्तक कभी नीचे नहीं हो सकता |”

धरती की पुकार

आजकल जहाँ देखो वहां धुआं, कूड़ा,-कचरा, गन्दगी दिखाई देती है | पृथ्वी का मानो रूप-रंग ही बदल गया है | फेक्टरियो, वाहनों आदि से निकलने वाले धुएं ने तो हवा को अस्वच्छता का रास्ता दिखाया है | धरती के प्यारे पेड़ों को काटकर, आधुनिकता की ओर अग्रसर मनुष्य ने, कारोबारों और घरों को बनाया है | क्या मानव दानव नहीं बन गया है? क्या वह अपनी माँ से प्रेम नहीं करता, जो उसे इतना दर्द दे रहा है?

मनुष्य कूड़ा-कचरा फैंकने में तो सबसे आगे है, परन्तु जब साफ़-सफाई की बात आए तो वह दूसरों को दोषी ठहराता है | क्या देश की सफाई और धरती को प्रदूषण मुक्त करने की ज़िम्मेदारी सिर्फ सफ़ाई-कर्मचारियों और कुछ जागरूक नागरिकों की ही है?

नहीं! भूमि की, धरती माँ की सफाई में तो उसके सभी बच्चों का सामान योगदान होना चाहिए | प्रदूषण से, धुएं से सिर्फ़ जाने जाती है, परन्तु क्या वह उत्पादन उन जानों से ज़्यादा कीमती है? क्या हम इतने निर्दयी हो गए हैं?

स्वच्छता तो देवत्व के सामान है | धरती हमारी माँ है | हमें अपनी माँ को बचाने हेतु हर संभव कोशिश करनी होगी | इको-फ्रेंडली होना होगा और अधिक मात्रा में पेड़-पौधों को लगाना होगा | आधुनिक सभ्यता में जागरुकता फैलानी होगी और घने वनों को काटना कम और अगर संभव हो तो बंद करना होगा |

इस कृत्रिम दुनिया को पीछे छोड़कर एक नयी, स्वच्छ, प्रदूषण-मुक्त विश्व की स्थापना करनी होगी | मनुष्यों की ही नहीं, जानवरों को भी जानें बचानी होगी | प्रदूषण के खिलाफ कुछ करना होगा, नहीं तो हमारा अस्तित्व संकट में आ जाएगा |

सभी पाठकों से निवेदन है की कुछ सुख-साधनों को त्यागकर, कुछ प्रयास कर हम एक ऐसा पर्यावरण बना सकते हैं, जिसमे प्रदूषण जैसा कुछ न हो | हवा और पानी एकदम स्वच्छ हो और आस-पास हरियाली हो | तभी सब स्वस्थ रहेंगे और सुखी रहेंगे |

नौ महीने बिताये उसकी कोख में,

जब भी दुःख हुआ तो रोए उसकी गोद में |

प्यार किया उसने मुझे अपनी ज़िन्दगी से भी ज्यादा,

भलाई देखी मेरी उसने, हो न हो उसका कोई फ़ायदा |

खड़ी रही मेरे साथ जब दुनिया थी मुझसे रूठी,

मुझे खिलाया छप्पन भोग जब रोटी खायी उसने सूखी |

मुझसे प्यार-दुलार करना उसने कभी न छोड़ा,

हालाँकि मैंने उसका दिल कई बार है तोडा |

रास्ता भटक गयी मैं तो उसने दिखाया,

ऊंचाई से गिर गयी तो उसने उठाया |

उसने ज़िन्दगी है मेरी संवारी, भले ही बहुत बार मैं हूँ हारी;

हर कोई इंसान समझता है यह बात, माँ तो सबकी ही होती है न्यारी |

क्या मजाल किसीकी मेरी माँ के सामने मुझे ऊँगली दिखाए,

दुनिया भर की तकलीफें हैं मुझे, मगर वह आए तो मुझपर खुशियाँ छाए |

सच कहा है किसीने कभी,

माँ नहीं तो भगवान् नहीं ||

Digital Technology and India

The digital world has not only entered but also radically changed our lives. With many complaints of computers slowing down our brains, it persists to be an undeniable fact that the digital world has made our lives infinitely easier.

From the room-wide Charles Babbage machines to the pocket-sized smartphone in every child’s hand, computers are seen saving us a lot of time, effort above all, creating virtual bonds between each of its users.

Now that this new evolving technological life has been widely accepted and loved, it is time to see how it can profit the lives of its million users. Because of smartphones and the internet, even a child has access to every drop of knowledge ever found. Businessmen have found new and more efficient ways of doing business. From connecting people to placing orders, from looking for a job to displaying your talent worldwide, digital technology makes it all possible at the click of the mouse.

The only, yet the most predominant demerit of the digital world is that one without the technical know-how or a pocket heavy enough to afford it, are bereft of its benefits. This is a major roadblock in using this tool for development of India, a country where many struggle to have food in their stomach every day.

According to me, to use digital technology for the progress of our country and its citizens is to make people in the rural and remote areas aware of it and its wonders. The right kind and appropriate training is all that the talented and eager youth needs.

Digital technology and its evolving successors are the key to every door at the top of each flight of stairs the country will climb.

A Digitalized India is an Equalized India

It is hard to imagine even one day without using any form of digital technology. Mobile phones, televisions, access to the internet and all connected gadgets have become an integral part of our life.

It is often said that when we don’t have something, we understand its importance. To understand the importance of digital technology, we must dwell upon how the world would be without it. It would be a world without the now integral means of communication, namely, email, mobile phone, social media, etc; a world without the main equalizer of today – The Internet.

Once again, registering for government schemes and policies or for that matter even a simple task like booking a railway ticket would become lengthy and time consuming. These services, with their integration with internet, have become hassle-free and literally a click away. Education, security, banking, digitalization has taken over almost every activity of the human kind.

The same internet is also the world’s main equalizer. It makes available to the underprivileged, that information which at a time was available only to ‘high-class’ people in developed countries.

The government is striving to extend mobile coverage to all villages, with broadband highways. This would also result in increase in business of various cottage and small scale industries. India, as a consequence will emerge with a newer, faster and stronger rhythm, for India’s heart lies in the villages.

People should also actively contribute in helping the government promote, educate and empower everyone on the use of digital technology. Even the remotest of Gram Panchayats should have access and connectivity through internet. This will help achieve the dream of a digital and an equal India.

Benefits of Digital Technology

The ever expanding world of Digital Technology can now help us with anything and everything. It reduces the time taken for long and tedious repetitive processes by simply automating the process. This is how the industrial revolution had come to be.

Digital technology now helps us in all areas of life, from long distance communication to availability of information, from critical surgeries (where the doctor might not even be physically present) to everyday recreation.

Digital technology can be most efficient in reducing paper-pushing and corruption in government offices and the bureaucratic sector. When all allotment and use of money is automated, chances of corrupt individuals siphoning off the money during transaction becomes very slim indeed.

Large corporations benefit by connecting its various international or interstate/city branches. In addition to being faster and easier, digital technology also limits the possibility of error due to human negligence or mishandling. Apart from worldwide connectivity through emails and social network, there are initiatives / apps that can provide real time updates and suggestions to farmers about their crops.

Going digital has the added advantage of saving paper. Emergency calls to the police, the fire brigade, have become a easy.

Digital technology has immense potential. Just like the GPS, it can help us navigate our life in this every changing world.
