Mountains to Climb

Aahan Nawab, Class X F

There is no reason for me to live
I know for me there is no one to believe
I don’t know what in my life I have to find
But something inside tells me that there are mountains to climb.
There is no one by my side
How many times I’ll say that I don’t mind
I know for me areas of opportunities aren’t wide
But something inside tells me that there are mountains to climb.
I know I have nothing, not even hope
There is nothing to see, it’s better to be blind
There is nothing so I walk towards the slope
But something inside tells me that there are mountains to climb.
I go outside and get to know that my inside’s right
There is no place in the world where happiness is defined
Now I know there will be furious free falls but I’ll have to fight
Now I tell my inside that there are mountains to climb.

Who Am I

Jahnavi Bhargava, Class IX F

Who am I?
I am your friend
I am your life
I am what you desire
I give you hope, and make you shudder
I make you cry and laugh
I will be there when you cough.
Who am I?
I’ll be there when you are ill,
And when you treat me ill
‘Coz I am your friend
Until you are dead
I’ll take you places
In just a few pages
From low beaches
To touch hilltops high.
Who am I?
With me, you will live
Not one but several lives
If you lose me,
Then don’t worry
I’ll always be there in your memory.
Taking you through different worlds
Through the universe.
Your beautiful dreams will come true,
Your haunted nightmares too
But don’t worry of harm
For in my heart, I’ll keep you warm.
Oh! Look, look, look!

You see, I am a book.

Nature

Anushka Sharma, Class VII B

Nature, nature, everywhere,
Don’t destroy it anywhere.
It gives you food and clothes to wear,
Fulfilling your needs everywhere.
But we’re destroying it
Do you know that?
Just for fun or a fancy hat.
Don’t let spoiling nature become your flair,
Or you’ll damage things beyond repair.
Listen carefully, I’m not imposing any rule on you,
My simple plea is –
Don’t destroy nature, try something new.

The Stars

It was late night and very dark,
With only some little spark,
And I was having some apple tart.
They were indeed some stars,
Just as charming as bright little flowers.
Their surge of silver,
Was their urge to shimmer.
The scene was quite a sight,
And with some of my little might,
I went outside to enjoy the wonderful night.

My Pet

I remember the day, when I got my pet,
From then I was never scared to sleep on my bed.
It’s impossible to imagine
My life without him,
Now that I have given
Him the name Kim.
Causing trouble has become his flair,
So I don’t have any time to spare.
I love my pet a lot,
Especially when it makes some naughty plot.
I love to watch him
With coffee and tea,
Living with him has become
My daily routine.
He and I love to play with clay,
And now it’s impossible to stay,

Without him even for a day.

Stars

Naqiya Barnagarwala, Class VII B

Stars
Little star, so real, so near,
I see you shining clear.
Little star, you, why should I blame?
I called you many times, but you never came.
Little star, so bright, so pretty,
I see you across my window when I sleep.
You shine so brightly in the sky,
I don’t know the reason why.
What’s your aim, I don’t know,
Just sit down and watch the show.
Water
Water, water, everywhere,
On the land,
In the air.
Water is so salty,
Somewhere clean,
Somewhere dirty.
Water is so mysterious, for you and me,
Solid, liquid or gaseous,
It exists in all three.
It quenches our thirst you know
Through the river it goes
Where it will stop nobody knows.
Save water
As it is becoming scarce
Because we waste it,
And nobody cares for it.
Flowers
So beautiful, so pretty,
They come out
In dresses of pink, yellow and green.
They have wonderful fragrance
And they often close
When our hands touch them.
They have lovely petals
And some feed themselves
With beetles.
Flowers are the beauty
Nature has provided,
We need to maintain the beauty,

We all have decided.

What is Life?

Pranav Mandlik, Class X F
Life is the best gift given to a person by god. This gift is given to everyone no matter whether poor or rich. This gift is equally given to everyone on the earth. This gift is given only once. After unwrapping the gift there is a box inside. Inside the box is life which is totally jumbled up like a puzzle. Now it is our choice whether to arrange the puzzle and make our life useful and enjoyable or keep the puzzle jumbled up and ignored as trash.
Life is known as the best teacher of our life as it teaches us many lessons and it also ensures that we never repeat our mistakes. It is rightly said “Ups and downs in life are very important to keep us going because a straight line even in an ECG means we are not alive”. Mistake is the best quality to make a person a perfectionist. Once Einstein said “The person who never made a mistake never tried anything new in life.”
Life is not all about money. It is achieving happiness and spending time with our loved ones. Live each day of your life as the last day of your life and make all the amendments that you want to make in your life. People in the hospital who are at the verge of dying never regret the things they did but the things they didn’t do. Live every moment of your life happily so that when you are counting your last breath you do not think of the things you didn’t do in your life instead you may remember the best memories and would be happy that you did everything in your life that you wanted to do.
Life is very small. Do not waste it. If you want change in your life then first bring that change in yourself and you will see that the change you wanted has automatically taken place. We are always only one decision away from a totally different life.
One main thing I would like to convey is to never think of the people around you. There would be times they would mock you but there would also be a time when the same people would come to you seeking help. This is a real fact of life. Never lose hope in life if you want to succeed.  I would also like to say “Your mind can break you or it can make you”. There can be a hopeless end or endless hope. Either you can be strongly mental or mentally strong.
Never stop questioning. Never be afraid that your doubt would be silly. A doubt is a doubt. It cannot be good or silly.

I thank God for giving me this valuable gift. God has not created everyone the same. Everyone is different from each other. Seeing the success of others never be jealous. Make yourself that much capable that success touches your feet. God gives everyone a chance to prove himself. Never lose that chance and make the best use of it. At last I would like to say “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”

Bermuda Triangle

Riddhi Singhania, Class X D

I was a pilot then
Flying the Airbus One-Thirty
It was over the Bermuda Triangle
That I felt the nature was playing dirty.
The radars went off
My hands started shaking
An abyss I saw below
And the plane started sinking.
It was neither the blue ocean
Nor the blue clouds of the heaven
It was indeed a time warp
In which we all were taken.
To the right we saw the civilizations
To the left were the inventions
It showed the whole world together
That even history books don’t mention.
Two or three hours thus passed
We don’t know what happened
But when the enchanting spell was broken
We had already reached our destination.

If I Were A Girl

Adi Dantre, Class X B

What if I were a girl?
My clothes would speak for me rather than my mouth,
My figure would be judged rather than my character,
My opinion would be judged by how boys look at me,
My seat would be decided by my charm,
My cooking skills would take over my education,
My clothes would decide the time, by which I should come home,
My posture would disrupt peace,
My skirt would be a catalyst,
My neighborhood auntie’s opinion would influence my mom,
My feminism would be nonsense for everyone,
My grin would be an extremely serious matter,
My best friend forever would be my soul mate for everyone,
And my life would still be considered happening and wonderful.
Now tell me,

Would you want to be a girl?

Man vs Tiger

Leysha Neema, Class IX C

The man destroys forests for his means,
But does not hear the tiger’s screams.
Man makes tigers endangered,
But doesn’t know in future even he is in danger.
Man kills tiger
With his trigger.
Man kills tiger for its skin
Doesn’t he know he is committing a sin?
Let tiger live its life
And ask man to keep away his knife.

A Poem from a Tiger

Aditya Mishra, Class IX C

In the brightest day,
In the darkest night,
No man should escape my sight,
Let those who take our lives,
Beware of our power, the tiger’s might.
