The Real Life

Sanjana Goyal, Class IX C

Inspired by ‘The Lake Isle of Innisfree’
In the 9th Avenue here,
I can see the swarm of cars,
With occupants in such fear,
As if aliens have come from Mars.
Escaping this would be bliss,
From the pollution and the noise,
And I would never miss,
This city with its four-legged toys.
The leaves would rustle,
The birds would sing,
And it would be no puzzle,

That there I would be the king.

A Desire for Fun

Sparsh Jain, Class IX C

Inspired by ‘The Lake Isle of Innisfree’
In cases like mine where there’s no room for relaxation and fun,
One often wishes to forget the world and lie in the bright sun,
To escape to a place….
Where all you can hear is the rustling of leaves,
The flowing river and the buzzing bees.
Where day begins with the chirping of birds and ends with the same.
A place far from this world, a place without a name.
Where nature’s at work, calming you down,
Where emotions convert into happiness from frown.
That is a place I dream of when I am in pain,
That’s perfect for short escapes before joining the race AGAIN.

A Land for Peace

Tanvi Agrawal, Class IX C

Inspired by ‘The Lake Isle of Innisfree’
Far from this fast and busy land
Where peace is not more than a fairytale
Why not go to a fairy land
Where peace and joy lie.
I know one such fairy land
Yes! That is where I like to stand
It is among the chirping birds
And amidst the glorious herds.
 God made nature for survival
Why rebel against it?
Find a place on this green earth
To make your mind and yourself jolly
To build a new spirit in you
To make a new one out of you!

My Heaven

Shubhranshu Kodwani, Class IX C

Inspired by ‘The Lake Isle of Innisfree’
Twinkling cars and distracting links
Replicate the starry skies
As I try to concentrate in vain
And look at the spreading city in disdain.
I wish I could live at a place
Which is safest of the safe
Where crime rate is docile
And the forests stretch for miles.
Even the thought of such a location
Causes me to overcome my current situation
And travel in my imagination
And live a life which is perfect
And continue to hope for the best.

My Wish

Sneha Sanotia, Class IX C

Inspired by ‘The Lake Isle of Innisfree’
Fast and bored is my life,
My work running behind me with knives.
I wish I could be in nature’s lap,
With cherry trees and bird’s clap.
I wish to sit in a peaceful place,
Where whispers of the wind come with haze.
I wish I could capture the sunshine,
Which will make the world divine.
I wish I could play with twigs,
Which’ll give me the freedom’s wings.
But I have faith that one fine day,

I’ll tell the world, the day is today.

Her Promise

Khushi Shah, Class XII B

She had a dream.
She wanted to help people in need.
Could she be who she wanted to be,
No, she couldn’t be.
Why? ‘Cause her family wouldn’t let it be.
Married her off at a young age,
Now and forever, she was stuck in a cage.
Her dreams tied up, her tears dried up,
In the wrath of her destiny.
She didn’t know what it’ll be,
All that she wanted was to fly far away,
Live near the bay…
In her rushed life, her dreams slowly faded away.
Now here she lay,
Dreaming about her child dreaming.
She promises herself, for her child to be
Whoever she wants to be.
No matter what, she’ll fight any destiny
She’ll fight till infinity,
She’ll fight for thee…

Nature

Parina Jain, Class VIII A

Trees give us so many things,
Sweet sound of the birds sing.
Nature is so beautiful we should know,
It is our friend, not a foe.
Animals should not be killed,
Water should not be spilled.
We should plant more trees,
It gives shelter to many animals and bees.
Natural resources should be conserved,

Trees, water should be preserved.

Traveller

Lakshya Somani, Class X A

In search of water and food,
Long there a traveller stood,
On a path, long and crooked,
Wondering if he should give up.
Taken this journey through mountains and seas,
His aim was only to flee,
The dark asylum he used to call home,
Where, never had the sun shone.
A mad man is what they call him,
They punish him for committing an unknown sin,
For what reason do they chastise?
For what reason do they despise?
This innocent man whose heart has turned to stone
Now he is just a traveller in search of a real home.
