Life Journey – From Dawn to Dusk – 1

Human life is a journey that can be compared to a day from dusk to dawn. Elaborate with reference to ‘The Seven Ages’ by William Shakespeare.

Sanidhya Khandelwal, Class IX C

A human being’s journey of life is like a day. When he is an infant, he is very gentle and sweet – just like dawn. Slowly, when he goes to school, he is lazy just like morning. Then he is a lover filled with illogical thoughts. Then he plays the role of a soldier, very angry, just like the scorching sun of the noon. Slowly, the age shifts, just like the temperature of the sun. Now he is full of advices and good thoughts. Then he becomes a slippered pantaloons, just like the setting sun. At last, comes a halt to his life and he has nothing, like the darkness of the dusk.

Shubhi Mittal, Class IX C

Dawn is young and energetic, beautiful and peaceful, just like a newborn child. His life is calm and not chaotic. He brings with him hope and love, just like every sunrise. As the day commences, every living soul loves the mild sunlight, just as everyone loves a child. Noon is the time the sun shines bright and brims with all the emotions as if trying its best to please every soul touched by its rays. Similar is the state of a human when in love.

The wings of time fly and now the sun is no more bright, yet, strong enough to make its presence felt. Humans in this phase, no more seek love but respect. Then comes evening which shows the sun is about to set and its rays are very mild. One, in this phase, is old and needs support. As it is the time for the sun to set, so is there a time for one to leave this world. Yet, both leave with the promise to return, be it in the same form or another and travel their journeys of life all over again.

School Life

Sahaj Sethi, Class VIII B

School life is one of the most important and enjoyable segments of our life. We ought to perform our tasks according to a fixed routine. We must wake up early, our turnout must be perfect and we ought to pay attention in class, listen to the teachers and we must ensure that we submit our work on time.

We mustn’t trouble anyone at school. We should be disciplined. We ought to do our homework regularly. As school life runs on a fixed routine, it helps us to become a better person in life by being punctual and respecting others.

Birds

Naqiya Barnagarwala, Class VII B
In the valley where I live,
There are birds that sing.
They fly across my house,
Spreading their wings.
Their chirping sounds
Leave me spellbound.
When I spread some seeds,
They all come to feed.
In the beautiful weather,
They spread their wonderful feathers.
Red, orange, pink and yellow,
They are such sweet fellows.

WHEN I WAS A CHILD

When I was a child, to me it was like a boon,
There were no schools and I slept until noon.
Anytime it would be April, May or June,
And I could just watch cartoon.
There was no homework to do, just sit down in the afternoon,
And my mother would feed me with a spoon.
All that was to learn was ABC and then I was free.
No problems or worries I could see.
We friends played together,
I had no studies pressure.
I thought it would last forever.
But now as a teenager,
Early morning I have to wake.
I commit many mistakes,

And now my heart breaks.

Importance of Internet in the Present Times

Aaliya Chandurwala, Class IX E

Good morning! Respected teachers and my dear friends, I am here to speak to you on the topic ‘Importance of Internet in the Present Times’. Finding the address of a nearby chemist or grocery store, trying a new restaurant, booking movie tickets or finding information for a project, the internet does it all.
The internet has been like a magic wand for all of us. Just a click and the information pops up within a fraction of a second. It is the easiest and fastest way to communicate as well. The email has made it a cakewalk for the users to connect to each other all around the world. It has given a base to e-commerce, social networking and other businesses to establish their base and flourish. It is a source of unlimited information used in every walk of life which holds great educational and professional value. But at the same time, we need to use it judiciously. After all, we are the commanders and thus it is in our hands to make a careful use of it.
In spite of its disadvantages, the pros of internet overcome its cons. It has been a helping hand for us and will continue to be. it is one of the greatest revolutions of this century. But we are unaware of what the future has to unfold. The technology will take us to another level but being careful and aware is all we need.

Thank you!

Individuality

Nandini Bohra, Class IX E

We all believe in the idea of individuality. Individuality, a feeling or rather your ability to differentiate between others and you. Not all of us possess it, in fact, only a few of us do. And that’s sad! You might count yourself in the privileged list of individuals. But let me tell you, you barely even make it to the end of it. Anyway, who am I to say this? I am a person in the same state as you, so I have the right to speak up.
Why are we constantly trying to get in rather than stand out? Why are we always trying to fit in the stereotypes this society has set? Why are we thinking of others’ opinion more than ours? Why?

After a lot of pondering, I got ‘my’ answer. Insecurities. A word I didn’t even know existed till a few years ago. Insecurities make such a great impression on our hearts that we are unable to differentiate between insecurities and actual flaws. Actually, we are all living an illusion as big as this earth.

Soulless

Mihika Shrivastava, Class IX E

My world is in fragments
I’m broken
People expect me to make amendments
But how can I do that,
When I’ve lost my happiness token?
I’ve lost my faith in god
I’m a cheat
I’m forced to collude
But no one comes to rescue me
So, I blame it on being indiscreet.
The devil is not bound by ropes
I’m in pain
I’ve lost all my hopes
But now I’ve stopped expecting help
Because the world is now treating itself with disdain.
Where am I?
Where no one hears my scream?
Well, I’m in a society with a big sigh.
Oh! How much I crave for fiction.

Oh! How much I wish this was a dream.

Success

Nisreen Malik, Class VI G

No matter how much ever failure upon you rains,
How much ever it pains,
Do not mind if your hard-work goes in vain.
The hard-work you do has its own beauty,
Sometimes it is sour and sometimes fruity,
Be happy in what you have and life will give you
More and more until you fulfill each of your duty.
If you are strong-headed in making progress,
And you believe in God who will bless,

Then you will have the address of SUCCESS.

My First Love

Gaurav Sharma, Class IX E

You may be thinking that this is a love story. No, it isn’t.
I had shifted to the US ten years ago and hadn’t stayed in touch with my family. I couldn’t even to attend my father’s funeral and was very sad about it. Today, I was anxious to meet my mother and all of a sudden, I got a message that she would reach the city by five in the evening. My joy knew no bounds and I rushed to the airport and to my surprise…
I noticed that she was bald. On enquiring, I came to know that she had stage 3 cancer and had undergone chemotherapy. Oh! The last time I would see her was on her deathbed! Oh! How I wanted to die that very instant! I took a day off from my office at Google. We went to malls and talked about my life and other things. We had the time of our lives.

Then at eleven in the night, I felt her body go cold and soon after come the saddest moment of my life. I had lost my first love. I deeply regretted my decision of coming to the US and leaving my family for my career. I realized that family is the most important thing in this whole universe. I plead you to at least stay in touch with your family so you don’t have to live through the kind of grief, regret and pain I do.

A Scenario of Indian War

Pranav Mandlik, Class X F

The war was declared. The soldiers were deployed. Prayers were going all around the country. All the family members of the soldiers were praying for the safe return of soldiers.
After a few hours, the news spread that the enemy had reached the LOC post and was continuously firing in order to gain control over the post. The villagers living near the border were sent to safer places.
The next day there was a high death loss to India. Many Indian soldiers had died. India had no choice but to give up. But one of India’s chief officers motivated the soldiers and formed a small regiment to fight the enemy army.
The next day an incident happened that was referred to as God’s miracle. The scenario of the war had changed. The small regiment fought with full spirit and courage and once again brought victory in the war.
All the soldiers of that regiment including the chief officer were given bravery awards. This was recorded as one of the greatest victories of India.
‘The enemies are only 50 yards from us. We are heavily outnumbered. We are under devastating fire. I shall not withdraw an inch but will fight to our last man and our last round.’ – Major Somnath Sharma
Let’s salute our Indian war heroes who are always on duty so that we sleep peacefully.

Jai Hind!
