Colours in Nature

Roses are red

Violets are blue

I like rainbows more than you!

We are made of these colours,

All sister and brother.

The snow white winters

When the cold winds bite!

The pleasant sunny days

Yellow and blue,

At the bay

My heart filled with blood,

Every second it gives a thud.

The beauty of nature

My heart it captures

The world covered with colour

This is my culture.

My Soul

Black is your hair

Like my very own soul

Your eyes, like the Royal Marines

Blue, the colour that my heart glows

Pink are your cheeks

The colour of love, you and me

Red is your lipstick

Hot rage hides behind me

Yellow, the jewellery that wraps your neck

Colour of the Sun, something I never saw

Happiness, the same colour

Something I’ve been look for

Violet nail paint hides your nails

The colour that surrounds my brain

White is your spirit

Like the starry night sky

Your life is a rainbow

Mine discolored, I wonder why?

Manchuka

One fine day,

We made our way

Through trees and clouds

Seeing mountains and moulds

Admiring waterfalls and rivers

Amazed at the serenity of water

After the flood reaching to a meter

Apprehensive of nature’s wrath

And the winding, twisting path.

Witnessing the unknown beauty,

We reached Manchuka.

All we could say was

Wow! What a relaxing day!

We visited Gompas and monasteries,

Enjoyed warm milk and fries.

While we built a snowman

And saw a huge dam.

It was a vacation apart from any vacation

Away from all network connection

We spent a week, in the cool comforting breeze

Where people freeze

But their hearts remain warm.

We help each other out.

Oh! It is such a charm!

Name and Fame

A crook robbed a bank,

The handcuffs went clank.

He was locked in jail,

Waiting to be released on bail.

While he was behind bars,

He thought he saw Mars.

He begged for forgiveness,

But received no kindness.

And while he perished,

He dreamt what he cherished.

In his dream,

He ate cookies and cream.

When he was finally out of the gaol,

Determined to be a new man,

Off to the nearest job he ran.

As the day ended,

He had enough money

To buy himself honey.

Never did he indulge again

In deeds that put a stain

Upon his name,

Against his fame.

Dad and Mum

Happy Birthday Dad!

My dad there standing at the fore,

Of not only the country

But also the family

I will always love you to the core.

Like a pillar you support us

Never once stopping to fuss

Protecting us from harms

And wrapping us in your arms.

Thank you daddy

For all you have done

So on a special thank you note,

Happy Birthday Dad!

Mum

When something me harms,

You pick me up in your arms.

Taking care of me,

From when I was a baby wee.

Bestowing me with good wishes,

Showering me with kisses.

I miss your warm hugs

And the cozy rugs,

You wrapped me in,

In the dark of the night.

Thank you mum,

For all you have done.

In my heart forever,

I cherish you moreover.

Seeking Gaiety

A whole new world is standing forth me,

All racing towards thinking themselves the most gloomy,

And I ponder in my fanciful fantasy,

Doesn’t anyone want to win merry?

Oh, dear! What’s the mainspring for each one’s melancholy?

Is it what they already have, or is it what they wish to retrieve?

Gee Man! Mustn’t you pay your apologies

To God, Who gave you something to which you didn’t pay heed?

Yes, it is your smile so cheery,

So promise to paint the town ruby,

With your twinkling beam so artsy (do you agree?)

In which reflects your ecstasy.

Why I Want to be a Unicorn?

There’s one thing I wanted to be from the age I was 7 and that is a Unicorn! Here’s a poem telling why I want to be a Unicorn:

I want to be a unicorn,

because it’s a magical creature.

I’d love to be a unicorn,

to show all the colours of nature!

I want to be a unicorn,

to fly above the sky.

I’m crazy for unicorns,

as I want to see what’s it to be up high!

I want to be a unicorn,

to show that they are real.

I’d love to be a unicorn,

to make believe they are here!

The Light Spring Rain

I like the smell of dear earth,

And how the light spring rain carries in it

Upon the singing notes of the mynah

And behold heaven in a minute!

How cyclists swish through muddy grounds

How horses clip-clop, clip-clop to several rounds

How sparrows kiss the blest skies, and…

A finer class of humans; with their Buddha smiles

Who like the kindful rains, free the world of lies,

Who make lovely magic go on for miles

And these who bask in golden Sun

Are why heaven on Earth has begun!

Are why heaven on Earth has begun!

Night Time

The best time of the day,

Is the night time, sweet.

Oh! how I love night time,

During that time strange people I meet!

I meet a fairy and a gnome,

I meet wealthy kings with their knights.

I love to explore exciting worlds,

And all this happens during the nights!!

You might have guessed what I mean,

I don’t really explore their real world,

But in the books these kings reign,

Due to nights so much I have learned!!

I keep gazing at the sky full of stars,

I love to see the moon so bright.

Many a time I hear a soft guitar,

And see the moon all shiny and crescent alright!!

It’s so quiet and calm out there,

It seems as if time has stopped,

I love the night time so much,

I smiled when the night time knocked.
