The Simple Truth

Can a common man appraise a warrior’s courage?

For them it might be the number of missions accomplished

Or the number of bruises and bullets he had while fighting for his country men.

Can a common man appraise a warrior’s esteem?

For them it might be the number of medals on his precious uniform

Or the number of people he evacuated from the floods and storms.

Can a common man appraise a warrior’s sacrifice?

For them it might be the number of beloved people he has left behind

Or the number of years he spent sweating and struggling for our peace of mind.

But the reality is that these things can’t be appraised.

As courage, esteem and sacrifice,

Are a part of his daily life.

Modern Opposite World

Modern opposite world

Is actually contradictory

People lose themselves here,

While chasing victory.

People are taking selfies with flowers

Instead of watering them.

People are taking selfies with waterfalls,

Rivers and seas, instead of enjoying them.

People are taking selfies with animals

Instead of protecting them.

People are taking selfies with their families

Instead of loving and caring for them.

People are taking selfies of their memories

Instead of filling the memories in their mind.

Spring Time

Flowers bloom

In nature’s art

Bringing happiness

Inside my heart.

River flows around

With its tributaries

Making a way

Surrounded with golden trees.

Trees full of green leaves

That’s what is natural

Near the seas

And not so casual.

I also see birds chirping

Doing it merrily

Fruits ripening

Juicy specially.

With all these thoughts

I can imagine the beauty

I ought to never destroy it

Pleased with its immense duty.

I like to see this

At the spring time

And always I wait

For this is indeed divine.

If I Were A Star

If I were a star

I’d like to brighten the world, near or far.

I’d gaze upon everyone, sitting by the planet’s bar.

And dance in the space along with constellations

And be everyone’s friend, solving all complications.

If I were a star

I’d fly in the breeze, watching a child cry

When its chocolate is seized.

I’d like to see through a white, snowy cloud,

Steal glimpses of parents being proud.

And colour the blank and dark night,

By sprinkling glitter for everyone’s sight.

And I’d see the planets revolve around the sun,

As beautiful as a girl with a bun.

And I’d be friends with the glossy moon,

But when I wake up I see it’s already noon.

Summer

Sun, friends, food and sea,

Sounds like summer to me,

Down the sun, in the sand, by the beach,

No studies, no homework, no one to teach,

In the sun, on the mat, by the shore,

Only silence, not a word, not a roar,

Through the blue and clear skies,

Such wonderful shapes, oh my, my!

Even through the exhausting dusk and dawn,

I never get tired, not a single yawn,

Beyond the beautiful and crystal-clear waves,

Do you ever see the moments of joy that memory saves?

Sun, friends, food and sea,

Sounds like summer to me!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

A quote to be mentioned ‘Excess of everything is bad’

A common voice unites all, every girl and every lad

They request you to descend back to your cloudy lair

At the break of dawn

And let the shimmering sunshine smile into the lawn.

On this beautiful planet, brimming with life,

Your strenuous exercise has caused a great strife.

O’ Rain, you’ve caused, raining cats and dogs,

Floods in many areas, several water logs

You have rained over every inch and metre of land

Caught in this downpour, every acre, each band

Let’s pull this off and bid adieu to your rainfall

Don’t dwarf the other seasons, allow even them to be tall.

In-Equality

Women-Women everywhere,

But why is there no one to care?

The castes have people who are definitely human beings,

So why is discrimination and caste prejudice still there?

Caste, creed, gender and religion,

Are all creations of man kind.

Isn’t it possible that someone can say,

There is only one god and everyone has the right to pray?

Our Rights are Our Pride

We fight for independence

We raise our voice for our rights

We fight because we don’t want to be dependent

We raise our voice for our mights…

We, the people of India, want to be as free as a kite;

We do not want dullness in our country,

We want bright light…

We have the right to speech

Then why do we need people to preach?

Why can’t we just understand

Ourselves and go together hand in hand…
