Flowers

When you give flowers as gifts
You see the person’s anxiety drifts
Flowers are a logo of tenderness
And mean a lot more than you think

Flowers are a tribute to the dead
They show sympathy, love and regret
They scent up the area with the ray of positivity
And support all near and dear to the deceased

Flowers are a symbol of love
Known to signify Aphrodite* as beautiful as dove
They signify your mother’s unconditional love
On how she raised you up – just as a gardener raises a plant to bloom later

Flowers show devotion to god
The burning of incense represents the fragrant scent of morality of your lord
They represent the aspiration to achieve the body of the ultimate power
And also the teaching of impermanence

A Kiwi and a Star

This is from the universe in which my earlier story *The Best Star in the Universe* is based.
One day, Kiwi, the only flying kiwi, noticed the Sun, crying ultraviolet tears.
“What’s wrong, Sun?”
“It’s nothing.”
“Please tell me, I would do anything to help.”
“It’s just that earlier today, the other stars teased me for my size.”
“You don’t need to be big to be important.”
“How so?”
“Well you are giving life to almost every living thing on Earth. We’re very grateful for you, you know? You cause the tides, the winds and the reason to steal ice cream from kids during the summers.” said Kiwi, laughing.
“Yeah, you’re right.” Said the Sun, with a strong resolve to win the best star in the universe competition.

The Memorable Moment

On a royal carriage I went
Looking at the lush green meadows nearby
My sadness had l lent
To someone else walking by!

Filled with delight
I saw the rain’s tip-tap
I saw the sky I had never seen before
In its utmost beautiful form

I never cared for the world
I wanted to completely enjoy myself
Never cared for the busy, running, noisy people
I wanted to be peaceful, quiet
And of course, all by myself

And in the precious moment
I looked at the beauty I really wanted to see
That splendid moment enchanted me
And forced me to think about the happiest thoughts ever in me
There was all me and the nature
Engrossed in ourselves
Not even thinking of ourselves
In the moment I knew I would never forget

That moment was divine
Because I knew after that I may not get time
Or that moment may not come again
So I never delayed and possessed that moment as mine!

All those rose-coloured flowers
Little cute girls skipping in the rain
None of them irritated
Or in vain

The sound and fragrance, I must say
Carried me away
The sound of the rain drops
And the fragrance of the soil
Made my way!

World War I

Look at the pictures of World War I,
Everyone can hear the shots of guns.
Everyone is leaving their places,
With fear in hearts and on their places,
Everyone is full of strife,
In a hurry to save their lives.
The world is full of fights and battles,
There is bloodshed filling buckets and bottles.
Everyone is trying to save
Their family members and best friends,
As everybody is thinking
That the world is going to end.
Everyone is alarmed,
As a common man is always unarmed.
The world is fighting over land, gold and money
but we common people are concerned with harmony
Why doesn’t the world understand?
All we need is to walk hand in hand.

A Lesson Giving Day

When I set out with my chariot
I planned to reach the Marriott
But it started raining heavily
And I started thinking novelly.

The wheels were truly stuck
The chariot was tuck with mud
Afraid of getting thunderstruck
That time I wished for luck

There were rainstorms everywhere
The people started running anywhere
Nobody was happy but
I saw the Sun somewhere

When you suffer a lot, consider that happiness is closest
For when you will be happy, sadness will be remotest
The growth of happiness is slow
Just refocus and you will glow!

The Charioteer’s Challenging Journey

It was a rainy day,
The Charioteer rode on without any delay.
The umbrellas were open, the sky was dense,
The people looked pale and tense.

The Charioteer was longing for something,
It was his favorite weather – spring.
Spring had gorgeous flowers and giggling children playing in the park,
He loathed the monsoon weather,
As it soon became dark.

It was difficult for him to ride,
As the rain increased because of its pride.
Soon, a match started between the charioteer and the rain,
The charioteer was hard working, but the rain was proud because it
could flip a train.

The charioteer was determined to reach his goal,
But the Earth was filled with water, due to the rain, as a big bowl.
The wheels started to do rock and roll,
It seemed as if the rain had started taking an expensive toll.

The rain now had become quite pleased with itself,
And now it had been laughing like an elf.
The wind now got annoyed,
So the clouds that were causing the rain got destroyed.

The sun shone out and its rays touched the charioteer,
Causing to end the problems he had to bear.
“Never give up or never give out,
Always stay strong and stout”.

Beat the Heat

I was walking down a street,
With a carriage fleet,
The sun was brightly shining,
People were whining,
When things got crazy,
The sky went hazy.

Everyone looked for shade,
I saw the sky’s shade,
It was deep blue,
Rain was coming through.

Then lightning struck,
Everyone ducked,
All ran away like mad,
But I was glad.

Oh! I was there, drenched till my soul,
I looked around to make sure I was alone,
Then I was dancing and screaming and laughing,
The pitter-patter rain was beating.
My day had been made,
My journey was delayed,
Yet my joy was inextinguishable,
My happiness was distinguishable.

It then stopped,
The road was mopped,
The street filled again soon,
Still that time was a boon.

The Rain

The rain blasts down on the cracked earth,
Quenching humanity’s water dearth.

The refreshing drops make flowers bloom
At the sight of these blossoms, children swoon.

The raindrops collect on the dainty leaves,
Petrichor emerges when into the ground water seeps.

Thunder booms across the sky
The ambience is beautiful, you can’t deny.

The charioteer cares for none of this
This rain is anything but bliss.

People with umbrellas strut the streets
While people with none run like athletes

Children get wet in the rain
Their parents try to stop them in vain

Rain is nature’s beautiful song,
And to this song we dance along.
