The Dungeon

One sunny afternoon the sly, clever and crafty cat, Tom, was sleeping. The mischievous and crafty mouse Jerry, got a splendid chance to steal cheese from the kitchen. So Jerry took the chance and cautiously went into the kitchen. He thought Tom was sleeping but he was wrong. Tom was pretending to sleep so that when Jerry came by, he would catch him and please his master.

Tom was sitting near the cheese quietly and peacefully waiting for Jerry to arrive. He soon came by and was about to take the cheese when Tom leapt towards him. But Jerry was fast and Tom could not catch him. So Tom started to run behind Jerry to catch him. And off they went from the living room to the bathroom, from the dining room to the master’s room. But Tom could not catch Jerry.

While they were running, they reached a room unknown to them or their master, the dungeons. As soon as they reached here, they stopped running and started walking cautiously as they were not aware of the dangers lying ahead. After walking some distance they saw a bright glimmer, and they realized that it was coming from a chest full of precious gems.

They thought that they were dreaming, so they pinched each other. But they realized they weren’t so they filled their pockets with as many as gems they could and then they went back. After that they lived a happy and rich life.

The Art of Laziness

Laziness is the first step towards productivity. Sometimes people are not lazy, they are just in their energy saving mode. For example, if a person is sleeping before an exam, while others are busy studying, that does not mean that the person is lazy and wants to sleep, but he or she is simply conserving energy.

People are not lazy, they simply have some other dominant objectives. We are taught at a young age that being lazy is a terrible thing and we should get up and go out into the world do something useful, but honestly, no average person can say that lazy days aren’t enjoyable.

Lazy people are more creative and often come up with innovative ideas because they have more free time. Many grownups, including our parents, scold us for not being energetic. However, what many people don’t realize is that most of the brilliant ideas in this world came from people who were lazy and wanted to invent tools to reduce the amount of work. Throughout history, many great inventions are born from laziness.

If any of your friends or relatives says that lazy people can’t go ahead in life then it’s absolutely not true. I completely agree with the fact that you need to put in efforts but more than the title of “Smart work”, I would like to categorize it as “Effective hard work”.

A well-known author once said , “laziness is the sickness to success”. Laziness is nothing but a habit of resting before you get tired. Last but not the least, we should not take laziness as an excuse for not reaching your target.

Friends

Oh! What a joy it is to have a friend like you.
For lifting me up when I’m feeling low.
And putting a smile on my face when I’m wearing a frown.

You help me on Halloween to rob the chocolates out.
The secrets I tell, you never pop it out.
We fight and in no time we sort it out.
When I suffer with hardships you are the one to aid out.
You’re the one who’s by my side when no one’s there out.

You’re the jam on my bread.
The tea in my cup.
The beads on my thread
The pocket for my secrets

There are many relations that god has given us,
But only one relation that we make ourselves are pals.
So these are friends!

Phones, Phones, Phones

Phones do have an advantage,
and are easy to manage.
But don’t be on phone all the time,
or you will break your spine.

Everyone is on the phone
and forgets the natural tone.
Nature is calling everyone,
but he is now a fat bun.

Do something new, make a new gesture,
and also, improve your posture.
Cycle every day up to one kilometer,
and keep your tummy within a meter.

Bosom Buddy

Today, I got a friend,
Who got the same thoughts.
She knew my every little secret,
Despite the quarrels we fought.

She helped me laugh,
She dried my tears.
Because of her,
I have no fears.

She corrected me whenever I was wrong,
She got me on the correct track.
She listened to all my dreams,
Despite the calibre I lacked.

As time passed,
We grew closer and closer
In the world,
She is the only one who gave me a shoulder.

All my life, I have been waiting for someone,
And that someone is you.
If I ever lose you,
There will never be someone new.

I know I have got a perfect friend,
Who always brightens my day.
Stay with me forever,
So that I can say whatever my heart wants to say.

Thankful For

Thank you, Gods and lords
For every night’s sound sleep and dreams that come true.
For an enormous, charming smile.
For the gatherings and botherings of my family.
For a cosy blanket to curl in,
a house that pleases me.
For a day’s meal, for the mesmerizing culture and festivals, we enjoy.
Thank you, Gods and Lords
For those, whom I will know in the future,
And for all my glittering tomorrows.

Girls Run The World

I stand as tall as a tree, taller than a man, ready to take over the world. Pictures of numerous brains depict that the world belongs to a man. How very incorrect! Without women, we would be extinct. I do not say that we wish to take a stand in crushing down the males, it is just that we rule the world, and it is high time to make a move.
Feminism gets its rightful place – the highest throne of the world. Orthodox methods have been drilling us down since the very beginning. We simply decline to accept it. We are sick of oppression and discrimination. We’ll fight, alright. We run the world because girls are self-sufficient. A girl does not cry hysterically; she finds a solution. Therefore, girls can do anything a boy can, and even more. She has the power, the self-control to bear and tolerate everything. We run societies, nations and like it or not, the world is in our hands. We need one another for the species to go on and survive.
Despite all problems, we rule the world. It’s ours. We are fierce and sensible to rule the world smoothly; and even if we aren’t, well we’ll take the world either way round. We can fly higher than the stars. Take me as Medusa or take me as an angel, girls run the world.

As quoted by Maya Angelou:
Pretty women wonder where my secrets lie. I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size. But when I start to tell them, they think I am telling tales and lies. Then I say: –
It’s in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my steps,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman. Phenomenally. A phenomenal woman. That’s me.

Life Lessons from Covid-19 Pandemic

This global pandemic has given us a golden opportunity to experience a completely new form of life with elements like social distancing, masks, quarantines, etc. This form of life took a bit of time for all to get acquainted with, especially the young minds. This situation, which we are witnessing, has given us time to acquire a set of lessons which are as follows:

Interacting with family

The family time had long ago been consumed by the gizmos, but this age old habit is resurfacing. This has brought a realization in kids about the importance of regular interaction with parents and other elders, and how useful their counselling is to them. Their life experiences are so motivating and realistic and how much could they absorb from them. Kids now would have a bold approach towards their parents for any counselling and this would bridge the communication gap created due to the fast life of both kids and parents.

Living with least resources

The Covid-19 lockdown in India taught us how to manage with less resources. This pandemic has also reflected the magnitude of consumerism we have developed within us and has resulted in the stark degradation in the consumerism we had prior to the lockdown.

Meditation

The hectic life and never-ending schedule of each day left no time for us. Our body was not able to communicate with us. This pandemic has given us a chance to look inside ourselves. This relaxes our mind and soul and we are completely recharged. This is what meditation is. Just sitting still and quietly in a room could rejuvenate you. This thought is completely and convincingly expressed in the quote given by the 17th century French philosopher Blaise Pascal: “All of humanity’s problems stem from man`s inability to sit quietly in a room alone”

The practice of self-assessment

This pandemic offers us time to sit alone. We get lost somewhere in the vast depths our memory, and the next thing which happens is we start to assess our actions. This is where the habit of self-assessment starts. This not only helps us to improve our character but also creates a way out of the inextricable life we live in.

The importance of a break

The fastidious life and the serpentine routine of the day had ended the possibility of a break in life, and we soon forgot the value of breaks. The lockdown was indeed a break until the online classes commenced, albeit the fact that this break was too prolonged. Here, a new element is introduced which is that the breaks you take should not be extensively long or short. The sanctity of this refreshing break is hampered when these breaks start to make you lazy. So a balance between your working time and the break time is also essential.

The impression created in our minds by the pandemic could not be erased from our minds easily but if these lessons are properly absorbed, these life lessons would be no less than the actual `Amrita of life` which could even be passed on to the future generations.

I would conclude by saying that the meaning of life is not only doing work or only relaxing but balancing all the roles you play as a student, family member or a friend.

After all- `Anything in the universe without a balance in itself, could not survive long.`
