Put down your phones and pick up the Planet

About 80% of the total population of the world is addicted to phones. We find almost every person watching or chatting on social media platforms like Snapchat and Instagram for hours but, they should be spending more time with nature and hearing the brawling river, chirping of crickets and chattering of birds in nature.
Now a crucial question ensues that “How can we spend more time with nature”? According to me, the finest tip is to pot some plants in our houses to get more affectionate and spend more time with them. We all know that plants take in CO2 and release Oxygen in order to make their food so, if we pot more plants in our houses, we will get fresh air and highly nutritious fruits and vegetables.
Watching phones can give you a never-ending backache and can make you obese sitting at one place, whereas walking on the lush green grass and observing the nature as well as birds can improve your mental skills and enrich your knowledge towards them.
One example that I would like to share is that during the Covid pandemic everything was locked, we were lonely, secured in our homes and cooking fancy dishes. I remember that my mother and I used to go for a walk at night to sense nature and observe it. I would like to conclude with a quote
“Time in nature soothes my soul lovingly wild”.

Village Women

As the time progressed, people’s views changed and women were respected and given more opportunities than in the past. They are now allowed to vote and take up any job. Women are now recognised worldwide but has anyone ever thought about the women living in the villages? I think not. Although they are being provided with facilities but not with a voice to protest or stand for themselves. Often in villages, girls who are below the age of 18, get married because of their parents’ will. In cities, women are provided with numerous job opportunities, a chance to take a stand but the case isn’t the same for the village women.

Men in villages live comfortably because their wives and daughters do all the work in the house but even after that the females of the house are not given any respect. Even with all the government schemes to give women the right of education, vote etc., a normal thing like hygiene is difficult for these village women. They are often ill-treated because of health problems but the people just make comments and don’t help, which is wrong.

Many people still go forward with what they call “tradition” or “what our ancestors followed”. We always learn something from our past but not everything was right at that time. Many famous personalities like Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule, who was a village woman, have taken a stand for women like the one in villages to shout out their wills that didn’t go for consideration. We can change this. It doesn’t mean that whatever our ancestors followed, has to be followed by us. Every new generation is an improvement for the future and we can’t run away from that duty.

As we go into the details of this aspect, we can acknowledge that numerous other difficulties appear. Children and men are given ample facilities for any disaster that occurs, whereas when women’s turn comes, it is mostly insufficient. Looking from a different perspective, there are many households with overpowering men. Women often in such overwhelming situations, have quarrels, special and widely known ‘Mother in law and daughter in law’s fights’. Women across the world have come to realize this fact and have been working for the same for a long time.

Similarly, child marriage is an extremely revolting practice. Without enough knowledge about the working and government along with their schemes, it is really hard for ‘village women’ to lead a stable, financially independent life. The financial disadvantages are caused mostly because of the lack of education.

Hygiene and proper facilities at labour are a must.

Many villages of numerous rural states have women who take care of the diseases and other health issues by themselves without knowing the proper procedure or consulting anyone. These points are mainly the biggest obstacles to women empowerment. Sometimes some things need to be changed for the betterment of the future…

Dear Earth, Please Forgive Me

Dear Earth🌏,
Please forgive me🙏
How are you? I hope you are fine. I am here to ask for forgiveness, not because someone told me to do so but I just realised that not intentionally of course but unintentionally I may have hurt you many times. Somewhere in my heart I always knew that I unintentionally hurt you. You are our mother who nurtures and provides us with all the things necessary for us. People often forget that you are the reason we are still alive. Even I had forgotten it but I am happy that now I have realised your value. Please forgive me for anything I have done intentionally or unintentionally that must have hurt you. I promise that I will never ever forget your value. I hope you will forgive me now that I have realised my mistake.
Gratefully yours

Fighting Coronavirus

The outbreak of novel coronavirus disease (Covid 19) and this virus was initially noticed in a seafood market in Wuhan City in Hubei Province of China in mid-December 2019. It has now spread all over the country. Due to this pandemic we have lost our friends and family members.
This novel coronavirus is a virus that cannot be seen with the naked eyes. It is a microscopic virus that has never been seen before. This virus is commonly called as Covid 19. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the virus an epidemic and now though people have got vaccinated, many people are there who don’t want to take the vaccine. Furthermore, many new variants of Covid 19 have been found.
To protect yourself from Coronavirus:-
1. Please keep social distancing.
2. Wear a mask and use sanitizer.
3. Clean your hands with soap and water.
4. Please don’t go out if you don’t have any work.

A Letter to My Beloved Earth

A humble letter from a creature you have moulded beautifully:

This is a piece of writing which tends to burst out from the most considering nook of my heart and I want to dedicate it to you, Gaia.

I am blessed to have you all around me, from your scent of soil, to the large engulfing grasslands.

For the chills and snow of winter, for these warm summer days, for the wet hours of monsoon, for the yellow dry leaves of autumn, for the blooming blossoms of spring.

I’m just a fun-sized creature which at times, isn’t grateful to you for your incredible gifts,

yet I want to seek forgiveness for all the wrong deeds of my past – thousands of years and this one too.

Do forgive me for tarnishing you in any manner, for tarnishing any of your beloved creatures.

Though I made some big and small blunders, I sincerely want to promise you dear Earth,

Even if thousands go against you, tend to hamper you, I would always be there to protect you, with all the might I have been blessed with, by you.

Here I am, and in the end I yearn to say,

That I am,

blissful, healthy, capable, fortunate, observant, caring

all just because of your presence in my life.

Thank you my beloved mother Earth.

I won’t ever be able to repay you for your care and every thing you keep doing for my well being.

Thank you Gaia!

Sunshine

“Kindness is the sunshine in which virtue grows.”
– Robert Green Ingersoll

Sun is a star. Sun is larger than earth. Sun always rises from the East.
In our body we get Vitamin D from the sun.
The Sun is a star made of gases like hydrogen and helium. It is hot and has fire because of the reactions which take place on its surface.
The planets revolve around the Sun because of the gravitational force of the Sun, thus forming the solar system.
Sun provides us with sunlight and solar energy. We use the sun’s energy to heat water and dry clothes.
Plants use the light from the sun to grow. Plants take the energy in light and store it in their roots and leaves.

The Earth’s Beauty

The Earth is repairing itself to show us its beautiful side, which was hidden because of the pollution and human greed. Right now, because of the pandemic, we are locked in our homes. The person who steps out of the house is like the prey of the pandemic. Earlier, we didn’t treasure small but happy moments of our life but now those moments make us nostalgic. We all are longing to be as free as a bird again and want to meet and travel with our near and dear ones.

Like everyone, I also want to visit my favourite place ‘Hawaii’. It’s one of the most beautiful islands in the world and I would love to visit Hawaii with my paternal cousins. During this pandemic some of us became as angry as a bull and wanted to go out and meet everyone but because of the pandemic spreading like wildfire we all were scared to move out. As soon as freedom becomes the knight in shining armour for us, I would promise mother earth that as a responsible person I will try not to pollute and destroy the Earth.

Mothers

Mother is a very special and important person for every child. She is the one who took pains to give us birth. She is one of the first indications of the power of God in our lives. She teaches us the power of words. She teaches us how to talk, sing, paint etc.

Our mother is our first friend. She illuminates our homes with her presence and smile. She handles the house, family and children. She gets sick but does not stop her work.

She gets separated from her parents, she cries but in some months she begins to consider the family of her husband as her own.

We tell secrets to our friends and in the same way we tell secrets to our mother also. She shouts at us, then we get sad but we do not realize that it is for our best. Let us always respect her and obey her.

Photography

“A picture is worth a thousand words” This is a common saying everyone uses, but do you know what it means? It means that a single picture can demonstrate what you are trying to say.

Photography is a medium through which we can show different perspectives to the world. It is more like a language but it does not have words. All of us might or might not have seen some attractive photographs in our life. They certainly have some words hidden inside.

Looking at a picture is more like a brain teaser. We always try to analyze what the photographer might have tried to capture in a picture. More of a detective work. When we try to capture an idea in a picture it is very thoughtful and that is why we say that photographers are the ones who are more thoughtful towards creativity.

Photography captures the moment that is already gone and impossible to reproduce. We love to click photographs whenever we go on an excursion. We use photography to store memories of vacations, school competitions, special occasions etc. We  read many types of books. But we only understand the ones with pictures better. We see different articles and news on the internet, but have you noticed that each and every one of them has a picture associated with it. Why? Because if we have a glimpse of it before reading then we can try to analyze what it is all about. This makes us more interested in reading that particular article or news.

Some of us use photography as a hobby or a talent. Wherever we go or even if we are at home we like to take photographs of anything. Being kids, most of us start taking pictures for fun. Sometimes, our mother had to rebuke us for doing so. Most of us love to take selfies and edit them to make them more interesting. Some photographers also add artificial backgrounds to make it look attractive. I think that they do this not only for making their photographs more popular but also to make other people who are not interested in the art of photography, interested in the profession to expand it across the world. To conclude I would say that “ Photography is the beauty of life captured.”

Be Yourself

Here I am, praising myself for what I do every moment. I am not really envious of the achievements of my friends, instead, I am happy for them because the life that I am living is not for them, it is for me. I might be bad at drawing but that does not mean I will not try to do something else. The more I get inspired, the more I learn, I get better. We can be who we are in front of anyone, especially friends because friends are those who we are not formal with. We can dream about anything like I dream about being an artist when I grow up. If you believe in yourself, you can do anything you want. I believe that self-acceptance is very important. It is the only thing that helps us believe in ourselves. You can take inspiration from anyone you want to but never ever dream about being them because, all of us are unique and we should not waste that uniqueness in being someone who already exists. We should start being who we are every time. Be yourself, you can behave, dress, speak and do anything you want, you don’t have to follow anything your friend or anyone does just to impress him/her.

The more you like yourself, the less you are like anyone else, which makes you unique. – Walt Disney
